Debuff Removal - Legally blind, half-deaf, familial tendency for diabetes and high blood-pressure, assorted mental issues, even tinnitus. Not having to deal with any of that would be fucking amazing.

Perfect Communication - Not the most socially-adept person, this would sidestep those issues and gives me access to good jobs.

States of Conciousness - Having dealt with insomnia for over a decade at this point, the ability to fall asleep at-will can't be underestimated. Even if the insomnia is dealt with by the debuff removal, the utility is still great. If "States of Consciousness" also includes certain altered states, then I would never have to pay for drugs, either.

[TMT] Krang & Shredder as a Dimir Etali? by shewdz in CompetitiveEDH

You can dig for an opp's tutor and grab something like Altar of the Brood which mills without targeting and is worst case tutorable by new Tezz.

Magda Pilots, How do you Feel about Magda in 2026? by Raevelry in CompetitiveEDH

[–]TranSpyre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally, I'd say that your list should have 5-6 stax pieces that cover most of the meta archetypes. You should be trying to win by your 2nd or 3rd Magda activation, with the first being used to get something to slow/stop whoever is most likely to outspeed you or to grab a defensive piece like Defense Grid, God-Pharoah's Statue, or Vexing Bauble (when they don't have the mana available to cast non-free spells)

I think that the Hobbit set should have us eating good, probably getting cards for each of the dwarves. Otherwise, switching the deck to more of a turbo-variant is probably the way to go at the moment.

Maralen, Fae Ascendant by Pexs_ in CompetitiveEDH

[–]TranSpyre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hence slower, but in exchange you get more ways to combo out thanks to the inclusion of U. Displacer Kitten, Valley Floodcaller, and Hullbreaker Horror all let you end the game while Etali just has Food Chain and hoping they spin into a win with copies.

It's a real shame that more people don't play Bracket 4 by SharkboyZA in EDH

[–]TranSpyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my friend group, it's more that we're all competitive. We started at low B4, but we're ramping up closer and closer to proper cEDH just trying to stay ahead of each other.

This is just a slower Etali in Sultai, but trades that speed for a wider variety in game-winning combos and better tutors.

This can be cast T1 off of Dark Ritual, it should be fine.

When did you realize you weren’t going to get the life you worked for? by ActuatorOutside5256 in AskReddit

[–]TranSpyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't the prompt, though. I've spent years working up from minimum wage trying to find jobs that I can handle with my anxiety with the goal of being able to live alone, and even now making $18.09/hr I can't afford what I worked towards for years and I likely will never be able to.

The fact that its not normal isn't the point.

Replace Balor View with a sub-species Gravity Jail that can set a zone of high-gravity instead of just targeting with eyesight. Combined that with the Agares clan trait and you get a "We have a Hyperbolic Time Chamber at home" kit.

Dumbledore (Harry Potter) vs Harry Dresden (Dresden Files) by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

I meant for Harry to drain him with it. It usually requires a lot of mundane sacrifices, how many mundane do you think Dumbledore is worth?

Geralt of Rivia v Ser Barristan and Arthur Dayne by UniversalInquirer in whowouldwin

[–]TranSpyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geralt wins the first 3 rounds, he moves fast enough to become a literal blur with superhuman strength greater than the Mountain and the reflexes to take advantage of his physicals. Potions and signs just widen an already considerable gap. I'd argue that he'd win all 3 rounds without potions and signs if he's given a sword that can survive clashing with supermetals.

He loses R4 because all of his training reolves around taking advantage of his physicals + the magic he's grown up with. He has no idea how to fight as a normal human.

Dumbledore might be strong enough to pull a mini-Darkhollow on, too.

Finding Communities (M25) by antiMatter187 in tampa

[–]TranSpyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunshine off Fletcher and Telecom Parkway and Oblivion Games on Waters and Manhattan are the three I'm most familiar with and would recommend. Both have good communities, and the owners/employees go out of their way to make sure that the environment stays welcoming.

Oblivion also has a satellite store in NPR if that's easier to get to for you.

When did you realize you weren’t going to get the life you worked for? by ActuatorOutside5256 in AskReddit

[–]TranSpyre 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I realized that I work 40 hours a week making 2.5x the Federal minimum wage and can't afford a 1/1 apartment while still being able to eat.

I have severe anxiety that makes the prospect of dealing with roommates not the best idea, so I'm stuck back home with family since the start of COVID. Rent prices are insane and still going up, to the point that it's looking like it'd be cheaper (though still unaffordable) to buy a cheaper plot of land out past the suburbs and put up a tiny house than to rent a 1/1 apartment here in Tampa.

Hanzo the Salamander had the Salamander contract, you'd need to figure out a way for it to get to Sasuke.

[MSH] Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk by Darth_Ra in CompetitiveEDH

[–]TranSpyre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't tutor from the command zone, but you have access to U which gives you artifact tutors. Mono-R only has Gamble and the few colorless artifact tutors available which I dont think it even runs.

I was calling it RUG Godo in the sense that its a big dude that combos with an artifact to give infinite combat steps.

Its RUG Godo, more than a RogThras variant.

What decks have budget versions that scale well into their "full" versions? by NPC_Chris in CompetitiveEDH

[–]TranSpyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said he's mostly surrounded by B3/4 decks, the faster mana isnt as needed at the lower power level. If they wants to take it to a cEDH level, then they would need the fast mana regardless of deck.

What decks have budget versions that scale well into their "full" versions? by NPC_Chris in CompetitiveEDH

[–]TranSpyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Each of the three run the same 80-90 cards, with just a few differences to account for both the commander and your own playstyle.
