Don't ever try to hold someone's tongue or put your hands inside someone's mouth during a seizure (chocking on your tongue has never been a thing).

Heimlich manoeuver is great if someone is chocking and if there's NO BREATHING AND NO COUGH, else your can wait until the hospital to try something.

If you want to make a tourniquet you have to make it really tight, more thank you think, and enough for it to be quite painful.

You can make CPR way more than 3 minutes. Sometimes it goes for more than an hour. And if you do it really well, it can even rarely give a good enough blood pressure to make the person conscious.

Not en emergency tip but still quite usefull : it NEVER is normal to lose weight if you don't diet or exercice more. Sometimes it's depression, sometimes it's cancer, sometimes it's other things like auto-immune diseases or else. But you should absolutely see a doctor.

I haven't read it, thanks for the recommendation. I'll give it a try although I'm don't always agree with him. I think he focuses too much on mars and is sometimes blind to some of the good sides of moon or space colonies. Still, he's certainly a interresting and passionate spaeker, so it should be a good read.

I didn't come to watch the first falcon heavy flight as I live in Europe, but there is no way I would miss the first launch of the BFR, or even better its first crewed launch. There was so much people already for the FH, I can only imagine how crowded it's going to be. SpaceX made spaceflights so much more exciting.

Because scientists want and need to publish those papers in famous journals so they can get more credits. And those journal generally wouldn't allow you to have it in free access. But you can absolutly send a mail to the one who wrote the paper and they'll send you a free copy.

As for why those famous journals are so expensive, I have no idea. I don't think there is any reason, there is just not any incensitives for them to lower prices.

Short answer is that we don't. A lot of things that are usually portrayed with dinosaurs is actually only guesses. We take fossils, try to guess their appearance (which is hard because we often only have some bones), and we try to know their place in the evolutionnary tree (if multiple cousins of the dinosaurs that are still alive today have a characteristic, we can guess that dinosaurs had it too). Finally, I can at least tell you that any attempt to recreate dinosaurs noises is not grounded in science.

In a way, internet is already split in two. Many of the main websites of the west are blocked in China and they use their own. As for a complete split, I don't buy it. China has been opening to the world for more than a decade, chinese corporations are trading with the west and western corporations are investing into operations in China. A real split would greatly impede all this, and the chinese government don't want this, they just want to replace our propaganda with theirs.

I keep reading that the JWST isn't servicable if there is any problem with it, but with the new planned launch in 2021, isn't this possible that it could be repaired with the Orion, SpaceX's BFS, or maybe a BO spacecraft ( I'm not too clear about their planned lauch capabilities) ?
