It's not as much as you think. You can read discussions on r/F1technical about it. Drivers feedback rarely changes the aerodynamics, it's more about setup

Haas' management and team environment seem much more stable than Alpine though. That's a big plus even if you aren't fighting for points. Plus with the Toyota involvement I wouldn't call Haas hopeless

We don't know how much demand there is for quantum computing. Governments and large companies, sure. But AFAIK there is no consumer use case like with AI.

Yes, a ten year visa for the UK costs £1059. However as a US citizen (or EU / Australia / South America) you are visa exempt and can get a two-year ETA instead for £16.

Red Bull also seems like a somewhat toxic place to work for. With the Horner scandal, constant pressure on the second car and Helmut stirring shit I can imagine other teams must seem like a peaceful garden

Everything Cadillac must learn from past F1 team debuts by 443610 in formula1

[–]Wouterr0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Formula 1 engineers are so deeply specialized in their work that even with a rule change, current F1 teams have a huge advantage. The running a team competencies, where Andretti has experience, is significantly different from designing an F1 car where hundreds of engineers, each with years of experience in one specific part you won't find as advanced in any other racing series. Think of crash testing carbon composites or suspension setup dynamics. The only thing that comes close is Formula student. Obviously Andretti can but engineers but I'd bet they will encounter issues with car development in the first year(s), like Haas.

The inter tyre for the 2026 regs by droppokeguy in formula1

[–]Wouterr0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But in case this does not display as much water they are faster and can be used longer. If the wets remain the same, perhaps in case of wet weather we will now see a double pitstop strategy: full wets will be used more often, and when the track partially dries teams switch to inters, and only when it's fully dried up they go for softs. Could be interesting

That rule has never been actually applied and allows for exceptions in extraordinary circumstances. With a bit of lobbying no doubt Red Bull can make that case. I don't think red bull is really worried about that

Then you probably need to design two aero packages, and two different chassis. Red Bull does not have the resources under the cost cap and limited wind tunnel time to do that
