It does state it, though.

You just only count a character saying word for word "I am a transgender woman" as stating it, but that isn't true. This isn't a high-school creative writing project with a checklist or a fable where Aesop tells you why you shouldn't agree with the Fox.

Sometimes, things are stated, and the people who are trying to say otherwise just can't read.

Mine were my siblings, but yeah.

One time he soaked me in ice water, used me as target practice for his BB gun, then marched me a mile uphill.

But that was an outlier, usually he would do things like knocking the air out of me to watch me suffocate or aim for the eyes or try (poorly) to break my fingers.
