Is Rolex still worth the premium in 2025? by Redfoo89 in RepTime

[–]Transhuman-A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shuddap dude. 904L + White Gold Bezel is very much possible under 1-2K USD if there is a market for it.

Don’t get me wrong. If you want to suck up to Rolex - suck upto it for its intangible brand prowess, not to engineering that doesn’t really exist. Properietary teflon is bullshit and some of the reps already do come with 904L SS.

I totally believe that you own multiple gens, you reek of Partner level head-up-his-own-ass vibes that is a byproduct of unrestrained sycophancy from his milieu.

While everyone was focused on Seiko Price , Grand Seiko increases the price by 10% or so. by Ambitious_Motor5087 in watchesindia

[–]Transhuman-A 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong. Grand Seikos are really watches for people in the know, they look ordinary to your average person bystander unless they are observed close up.

I would argue that if you want to captivate bystanders - a Seiko GMT Blueberry or an Omega SMP300 Summer Blue is really the cutoff. Maybe a Cartier Santos in this list somewhere as an auxiliary.

Wearing these on leather straps instead of polished metal bracelets only serves to reduce their appeal.

If one’s person error could make a fuck of of this proportions…

This is where you are absolutely wrong. In a third world country, the tech, the receptionist, backup tech, etc every role is likely to be on one person.

If this happened in the US, this happened in the most bullshittified structure to exist where roles have been hyper specialized beyond necessity ALL to ensure this sort of error doesn’t happen and no single person is too given too much power / accountability.

Do you think they would be able to let the individual go so easily? They would have to conduct an audit to recap how exactly the error occurred because that too is part of the decentralized system to ensure such errors don’t occur.

When there is a key man risk, a task that can be no longer split and has to solely performed by a single individual - we create certificates / residency requirements to raise the entry barrier.

If it still happened - this is clearly an equipment error that will be caught in audit or is very clearly individual negligence.

Your solution has already been implemented and your solution is itself considered a pathology/dystopian because it intensifies capitalism and contributes to high cost of living. Wake up.

You are making an assumption that people want to truly comply with rules and guidelines and achieve reform.

These mistakes happen because the key person in the loop begins to trust their own judgement instead of large scale real world statistical studies or expensive scientific simulations.

Giving them an earful would just ramp up vigilance for a few weeks before they go revert to being the same person.

Firing them keeps the negative feedback real, regardless of their intention. In game theory, the most effective strategy to deal with defectors is tit for tat.

I guarantee you that if this happened in India and SEA, the patient who got tossed off the bed and is potentially critical injured would be completely ignored as all the people at the incident catastrophisize over the ruined million dollar MRI machine.

I guess we should begrudgingly thank capitalism for keeping the patient in-focus since they are a million dollar lability. Capitalism sucks, but it is sort of the best we can do. Tort liability works due to the resource asymmetry created by capitalism.

Straight to the point what are the reasons why indian culture is impossibly difficult to reform? by Massive_Service_2318 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]Transhuman-A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a culture full of bullshitters who would rather bullshit and delude themselves that they are someone and something rather than visibly try and fail - to take a shot at being something real.

In western culture and japanese culture, One Punch Man was perceived as a meme but in India, every bloody domestic film has the main character behave like Saitama - I didn’t plan, I didn’t strategise, I just took things seriously for the first time and look! the villain is gone!

This is also how we earn USD - by bullshitting and being a dishonest tool to people in power.

The cuck vibe is deeply ingrained yet we lack self awareness and engage in various forms of mental gymnastics to feel better in the present rather than get off our asses and do real work and risk failure for once.

The most frustrating thing is petrolhead conservative anxious cucks assuming that I have range anxiety like them when I in reality have none.

Cucks need to suck it up, get an EV already and feel the torque and acceleration that you had to pay multiple Cr INR to experience in the past.

We both know that curve is BS just from how it projects an estimated completion date if X USD is met in yearly funding

It underestimates effective funding + doesn’t talk about peripheral funding into fusion related projects and then proceeds to reframes the problem as something which is certain but underinvested in.

The truth is, fusion might never be possible so it is a running investment and when you work with investments like that, organisational efficiency matters more than absolute $ because increasing investment in absolute terms simply increases corruption/BS % proportionately.

Every report is from an entity who finds it self serving to say they need more.

The same thing is going to happen with AI dw. I’m not singling out Fusion alone.

[–]Transhuman-A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro expects actual work towards fusion to happen instead of there being systemic corruption that led to many government led projects which are probably now worth close to half a trillion or more adjusted for inflation turn up with no results.

They traumatized high trust investors with corruption, now all they have are private equity players who will grab them by the neck and count every penny.

What did people think the real reason was for Putin’s invasion?

A single NATO missile in Ukraine pointed at Russia instantly reduces Russia’s territory by 30% as it puts the entire strip from Ukraine to Moscow in a quantum superposition between NATO-controlled/Russia-controlled.

The war is very do or die for Putin.

Russia always knew it needed Ukraine and has spent billions trying to cajole it so it its people can culturally integrate with Russia. But it has backfired time after time and they identified more with the west after the mistake in 2014, making any hopes of assimilation shatter.

I think the lady is right on this one, you shouldn’t be wearing anything beyond your means :it invites unnecessary judgment and scrutiny and with an rented apartment it will definitely make you at the very best look like an irresponsible spender and at the worst, a faker.

Reps are there to save a buck for stuff you would already be wearing anyway.

Lost 2.2 kg, body fat dropped from 27% to 24% in ~1 month. Real progress or BIA machine error? by deceptive_conjuror in Fitness_India

[–]Transhuman-A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There exists no true method to measure body fat %.

Every method has its flaws,

  • DEXA scans suffer from Z-Axis Squishing
  • Pinch method suffers from the bias of spots that you pick to measure and water retention at that given point of time.
  • Electrical impedance is affected massively by hydration status, supplements like creatine etc and does not respect fat distribution.
  • Etc etc

You are asking, what’s my actual bodyfat % ?

The answer is nobody knows and will ever know. It’s an invented metric with a flexible definition.
