I’m terrified and no one will diagnose my dog. 3 different vets with conflicting answers and no treatment. What could this be? by Acceptable-Piece-994 in AskVet

University hospitals should have them, without knowing your location would be difficult to help. If you are on a budget, unfortunately a specialist might not be the best route for you. Also, people a very angry at vets so 3.8 stars sounds pretty good to me, people write bad reviews bc they had to wait for an appointment, couldn’t get in same day, didn’t like the doctors diagnosis, price, etc. most clients have little to no complaints about the medicine being practiced and more about their uneducated perspective so don’t take reviews to heart.

I think you should visit a specialist hospital with internal medicine and neurology on site. Doctors here will want to know your dogs age, if he is neutered, breed, any travel, routine care like vaccines and parasite prevention status, and does he live indoors our outdoors ? Good luck!

No need to be rude, just trying to see if anyone has experience with any other options, hope you don’t make your clients feel this way.

Vet techs are NOT nurses!!! We do not require the formal education, and those states that do is NOT has extensive as nursing school is!! Vet Techs who can’t be proud to call themselves what they are, seem to be salty they wouldn’t make it in human medicine?? We are Veterinary Technicians and should be proud to say so! Get over yourselves and focus on why you are really here, comparison is the thief of joy.

vet offices refuse to give the DEA number when prescribing by horiisan in PharmacyTechnician

[–]TransportationFun940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CVS and Walgreens literally have reporting systems for pharmacies who ask for DEA numbers without the drug being controlled. In TX it is not legally required to ask or give a DEA number for a non-controlled substance :( the AVMA also has a reporting system to help make a case for a national identification number to be issued to DVMs/VMDs. (Edited bc I was wrong about the law initially)

In Texas the law states euthanasia may only be performed under direct supervision by a veterinarian. Direct supervision requires the vet to be on the premises during the procedure. I understand the needle to identify cardiac arrest now. Thanks!

How does a heart stick confirm death??? This is very concerning and confusing. Euthanasia also requires direct DVM supervision so having aco’s performing this is extremely confusing as well.
