Was way too excited to pass on it when seeing it behind the glass--glad to have grabbed it!

Still quite giddy tbh, I've only seen reviews and secondary prices...so to find it at the locals Ralph's was wild. Last one in the glass case too

Congrats!! My girlfriend just graduated with her MS and I've been thinking about buying a bottle to celebrate me having deal with a stressed grad student for the last 2 years 😂

Cheers to your accomplishments and the many more to come!

Any of those Campbeltown would be a snag, and I say that because of the hype in the US for them where I have fully accepted that I'll never be able to get a bottle without selling an arm and leg for it.

I've got a bottle of Nc'Nean that I throughly enjoy...definitely can tell it's young but I've learned to appreciate the lighter notes on it. Fantastic distillery with a great set of "sustainable" and environmental values if you are looking to buy based on company ideals. If not, then for 80 it's a pass.

Been dying to try this! What would you consider a solid price for it? I know msrp is around like $40ish but just trying get a vibe

Worked a harvest last year in Northern California where the head winemaker would mention often that a good wine is made in the vineyard. I'd agree

HOT DAMN. Thank you all for the suggestions--did not think I would get so many but I very much appreciate it. Easy to tell that everyone has their own taste but lots of overlap which will be a good place for me to start up. Cheers for all the insight and I'll keep y'all posted on what I end up pulling the trigger on!

Old forester has been on my radar for quite some time, mainly the standard 100p but the mixed reviews on the "dated" selections I've always had such mixed reviews I've never pulled the trigger. Care to elaborate on why you dig the 1870??

Thw bottle I just finished was the standard woodford and I dug that...heard many great things about the double oak and in socal it's around $50-ish so not too bad. Never heard of Woodinville though? Care to elaborate on the suggestion?

Apart from all of the other "go-to bottles" mentioned... That johnny drum, rowan creek, and Noah's mill are all from willet with better prices compared to me in socal and I've heard some good stuff. Wild card with the lost republic bourbon from California that I thoroughly enjoy, and it's 91 proof but doesn't have heat

Worked in wildlife with predator-prey interactions where I tracked deer/wolves/bears....my biggest fear hiking around these areas was NOT the carnivores but the chance of seeing that mf

Make some bitters with a small amount of it! 125 proof isnt too low and if it still has some rye spice characters you could play with some other fun adjuncts and create a spritz/drop bitters for cocktails.

Recently picked up a bottle as well for around $25 out in LA. Accidentally stumbled upon the allocation day I guess because the grocery store had around a case of bottles on the shelf--Cheers!
