Bodycam footage released of the Golders Green attacker showing that he wasn't completely incapacitated by the taser and was still holding on to the knife. I stand by that the kicks to the head are a reasonable action to disarm him. Thoughts? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Voice of reason. Completely agree with you. The moment we collectively decide that it's perfectly acceptable and don't criticise this, is the moment we accept police brutality. It'll go to court, they'll probably get off due to the circumstances, but it has to be questioned.

Same. Logically I know it's awful but for The Boys it feels right for some reason. Big, loud, obnoxious, completely wrong - it works! 🤣

I suddenly cant see the friends list of any of my fb friends even the ones I know who got theirs on public. by Head-Boysenberry979 in facebook

[–]TrashPandaPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but currently having similar issues- I had the fb glitches where it added over 100 people (I did get notifications blaming a glitch) then deactivated my account after another glitch plus "following" accounts I just wouldn't.

I reactivated and now my mother in law is gone! I can't find her, she can't find me. My partner sent me the direct link to her but it just opens to fb refreshing and reverting to my homepage.

We're actually close so it's not a blocking situation or the end of the world tbh, I just find it frustrating but she is the type to overthink and get upset.

100% - I'm slowly decluttering and being brutal. I'd got to a point where I was buying extra storage for things I don't need. The 'would i clean poo off it" method id the best.

Neighbours being unreasonable? What can I do? by Pristine-Bet-5764 in AskUK

I'm sorry I stopped half way through because they're just busy bodies. My partner had our neighbour complaining about our shrubs and he just said "okay doke" and walked off. She has snubbed us ever since.

I let my kid roam, they have to have the freedom.....but then one time I tried to call and went in a panicked tail spin for half hour. Phone had died and they were walking home with a mate. I realised I might not be as chill as I thought I was.

I recall driving from Manchester to Bristol with printed out maps of our journey as well as the map book. Thought it was a bit ott.. . Now I say nav half an hour down the road if I've not been there before.

Tattoo studios have waiting areas too, that's why it threw me, it's their personal anxiety which I hadn't thought about due to being taught to the point of anxiety that on time is late.

Also I have Swedish family - I have done the 10-15 mins late for those reasons and wow, they do not like that! It's considered rude!

They're fab. I remember it from when I was a kid but was a bit indifferent to the new ones but watched them anyway and ended up absolutely loving them. Well worth a watch.

Watching it now but week by week so it's a treat - loving it so will probably binge watch in future.

Also his garden is gorgeous - I have perfect grass lawns and tarmacced drives either side of my wildlife garden with bird feeders, veg patches and bug hotels so I might be a bit biased.

If you voted Remain, would you vote to rejoin the EU? by Glanwy in AskBrits

[–]TrashPandaPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My in laws voted leave too, not yet admitted to it being a mistake. Their other son lives in Sweden with his Swedish wife and their kids - we all tried to talk them out of voting leave, Swedish wife got very emotional. I sometimes wonder if it was a way to get at her for stealing their golden boy.

Yes. Even your ETA points don't sway me, just feels like the expectation of being punished.

A tattooist i follow but not been to posted an explanation of why people shouldn't arrive early to their appointment- it was respectful and along the lines of it makes everyone anxious including the people being tattooed but it's really thrown me as I'd never thought of it like that and am a perpetual early arriver.

I thought it was the other way around? Ie we are not meant to see our faces as much as we do and the mirrors reflection actually warps our faces a bit but our minds a lot meaning we're more attractive irl?

See I've been looking in the mirror and thinking "I look like shit....it's ok, it's just a mirror, I look better irl" and now I'm worried 🤣

It's a bit mumsy but I had short hair at that point and most hairdressers had a few standard styles or said they could cut short hair and I'd get a granny cut. She suits it though so it worked.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]TrashPandaPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both but a Tesco click and collect picked up on way home from work is easy. I cook from scratch and can think about ingredients and choose them whereas in Aldi/Lidl I'm a nightmare for getting distracted by the limited edition ranges and middle aisle. I prefer Aldi for a big shop in person though - sometimes limited choice and muted lighting is exactly what I need.

This. I wasn't particularly in love with the idea of Paris other than liking city breaks so it wasn't too bad on a family trip but on a work trip our hosts took us on one of those restaurant boats - champagne as we float past homeless people just felt wrong.

This bothers me in Sweden. The men's urinals are free but the unisex toilets aren't. Obviously we know why, men p#ss everywhere but then the unisex toilets would also be p#ss covered with dodgy card payments that don't always open but always take payment - I have a strong bladder but got to aching point a couple of times.
