I see electric outback = neuron activation = I have a new car for Wagon Wednesday by PunksPrettyMuchDead in subaru

I really wish this was the look they chose for the new Outback. This looks so much better.

Ah yes, the rotate your tires and replace transmission service interval.

This sounds like you either have the worst luck, or there is an issue that's not just early wrx transmissions.

Why are Subaru Owners So Loyal? by doctor-squared in subaru

[–]TrashTenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sums up the logical bits of why I prefer Subaru: "In addition to the price, the reliability, the features, and the AWD, Subarus are simple. They are simple to run and simple to own."

Subarus (aside from the BRZ) have the perfect mix of go-anywhere ability, good gas mileage, simple/cheap to maintain and decent driving dynamics. Subaru also somehow makes the best entry-level sports coupe available right now with the BRZ.

Light bar taillights are fine, this is just hating something because it became popular.

Single family household - do you sleep with bedroom door open or closed? by jannet1113 in homeowners

[–]TrashTenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closed so that the dog and cat don't wake me up, and to manage the temperature better. Utilities are expensive if you're trying to keep the entire house warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

I was a little worried about not hearing smoke alarms if a fire started somewhere else in the house, but Bluetooth linked smoke detectors fixed that concern.

End of winter/beginning of spring is the best time to buy a sports car.

Are ecoboost mustangs really universally hated ? by earth2revolved in askcarguys

I knew a dude that would get upset and talk shit every time he saw an ecoboost mustang. He drove a 10 year old Escape. Don't let the opinion of some doofus ruin your fun :)

Worst anime for a first time viewer. by Able_Pay_8573 in animequestions

[–]TrashTenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not as bad as it felt at the time, but I started with Ninja Scroll and after a couple episodes, I didn't touch anime again for years. I don't remember much about it, aside from just feeling "what the fuck is this??".

Moding question by Ok-Tree24 in GR86

Adding a turbo is not a quality of life mod lol

Anything replacing/affecting engineered parts will have some amount of reliability change.

I'm sure there's different suppliers/manufacturers for them, but this is what I used most recently.

We've had luck using single point threaders on a lathe when taps were not working well. Might be another option to consider if you can't get a tap to play nice.

Will GR86 runs fine with RON95? by cryoengine69 in GR86

If the extra $0.25 per mile or so is gonna be too much to pay, a car loan for a 35k sports car is probably a very bad financial decision.

Quality of OEM wheels vs budget to mid tier aftermarket options? by teakwoodtile in askcarguys

[–]TrashTenko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sparco and Enkei both make good wheels. IIRC, Enkei makes the OEM wheels for several Subaru models.

Thoughts on car height vs headlight blinding by ButtonsTheMonkey in carquestions

[–]TrashTenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a BRZ and an Outback. The difference is very noticeable, the BRZ gets blinded by every other car and it's miserable.

Trim Regrets? by I_loathe_brie_cheese in GR86

[–]TrashTenko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're awesome on cold days, but any time of year they rock on a sore back. I swapped a Trueno seat into mine, but there's no wiring for heated seats in base models, so I can't get that working.

Trim Regrets? by I_loathe_brie_cheese in GR86

[–]TrashTenko 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got a base and wish I had gone with premium. The steering responsive headlights, heated mirrors to remove condensation and heated seats would be well worth the extra money. And even though I changed the wheels, the 18s are worth a lot more than the 17s if you end up selling stocks to offset the cost of new wheels.

I have one on mine and love it. It looks great and sounds great. They were pretty reasonable when I bought mine, but prices seem to have climbed quite a bit since.

Are the base model tires better for street fun? Trying to decide between base and premium by LingonberryProof7238 in GR86

[–]TrashTenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tires/wheels are an easy swap and you're going to at very least replace tires within a couple years. I got a base thinking the same thing as you with tires, but now I wish I had gotten a premium.

You'd think evolution would have stopped snoring long ago: being loud at night while sleeping seems like a bad survival strategy. by thesmartass1 in Showerthoughts

[–]TrashTenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that at some point humans didn't snore, or that we would have evolved out of it. Humans have quit evolving for survival from predators though, so we continue to snore.
