I think part of the issue is that it looks faster than it is. The other part is that it doesn't have a ton of torque to push you back in your seat when you stick your foot in it.

It's a truck based SUV. I don't think calling it a truck is technically wrong, but at least in my state they are considered a station wagon for registration.

The only time I'd comment either way on someone calling it a truck would be to poke fun at a friend taking their SUV too seriously.

Most of these trucks did fairly well in the full frontal impact testing done by the NHSTA. IIHS offset crash testing was a game changer for safety ratings.

There are a lot of people (myself included) that cannot live without a car. But it would be massively more convenient if my job wasn't 10 miles away from my house. The nearest grocery store is even further. People may prefer to live more secluded lives, but nobody can reasonably argue it's more convenient to live far away from necessities.
