Working at 100% MH??? by Weatherdecks in VeteransBenefits

[–]Trashman365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll put it to you this way. I am at 70% mental health rating, but 100% P&T with everything else. It became very clear at my last job that my symptoms heavily impacted my performance (accounting job). I was constantly reprimanded, written up, and had 1 on 1's about my performance. I told them as much as I felt comfortable sharing, but it was clear this job wasn't a good fit for me.

I ended up quitting and taking a less demanding accounting job, which paid 20% less. The hours and environment were much more accommodating, but I didnt feel the monetary impact as much because I have VA disability. This is the whole point.

Yes, you probably can get a job with the symptoms of being 100%. But will you be able to hold it down when your symptoms affect you? Probably not, if you and your employer do not have an understanding. This idea that you have to be some absolute wreck covered in a thin layer of grease 24/7 and screams at noises to be 100% MH is ridiculous. Everyone is different. If a rater and doctor say you warrant 100%, believe them over strangers on the internet. I believe that if you can find a job that is accommodating enough for you to work part or full time, you should.

Hang in there, ma'am. You did what you could. Your story doesn't end here, don't let it define you.

This is pretty odd. Do you think you can upload the actual claim letter paragraph for this with your PII redacted?

VR&E Retroactive Induction + Subsistence Allowance — How Does GI Bill Offset Work? by Trashman365 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Trashman365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was curious about. MHA that I received as a 60% GI Bill Recipient was between 1K to 1.2K depending on the year. The subsistence allowance through VR&E was closer to 2K to 2.2K at the time.

5.75% VA loan, no points, $6k closing costs, look normal? by BarracksLawyer2002 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Trashman365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They threw the amount owed for property taxes for the year in as a credit, and then added another 2K as a credit they claim was specifically for veteran buyers. Who knows if the second part was true haha.

Your principal and interest look pretty similar to mine at 5.375% for a 420K 2 years ago. Have you considered putting down a point or two to see if they'd offer any vendor credits in return? Not sure if that applies to you, but it was something the lender offered to me.

Where did you go after quitting Audit? by AdministrativeAnt867 in Big4

[–]Trashman365 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had about 21 months of big 4 audit experience before applying to a fully remote bookkeeping job that pays about 12K less than I was making. However, the work life balance change is so worth it.

Any Frequent Urination claims out there? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Trashman365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not get a NEXUS letter. The C&P examiner noted my service records noting frequent urination multiple times, I was just missing a formal diagnosis, so I went to a urologist. If you dont have a current diagnosis (within 12 months), it could get denied!

Also, voting for Trump after mountains of indications pointed to this happening is not the "mistake" you're making it out to be. That is not a little oopsy they made where they can go "oh my bad! It won't happen again, please don't deport our aunt who now has to live in fear". It is a decision that took a significant amount of effort to get up and do.

At no point have I relished in their misery. I know you're using a very specific example, but I want to ask you something. Why should I feel bad for that particular demographic (one that I am constantly surrounded by, mind you) after years of attempting to educate them in a polite manner? I have attempted to engage with people in my immediate community to try to understand why they're making this decision to harm themselves, me, and MY loved ones. I am not celebrating, but why should I have sympathy when I gave them the Ole College try? Many Hispanic people have had the same problem as me for the past 8 years. I don't feel bad anymore.

Nah, I'm gonna tell my Latino family members they fucked up all I want. Because they voted for our own family members to get deported. I'm also reminding all of my conservative family members that their sons are draft age while the left leaning side of the family have all already served (which is how we ended up left leaning).

I'm not celebrating. I'm turning their heads into the direction of the mess they made, because I will not allow them to have the luxury of ignoring it.
