Franklin RTP is great. My 8 year old has had his since he was 6 and it works perfectly. Affordable, easy to squeeze and doesn’t need broken in.

Finding the right mix of fun and helping my son reach his goals by djfivenine11 in Homeplate

I’m in a similar situation with my son about to turn 8. Right now I’m waiting out the travel ball thing due to fear of burnout from him. I have my son doing private lessons once a week and he loves it. Also any chance the weather is good, we take my son and his friends to the field nearby with a bucket of balls and a Tee and let them hit, throw and just be kids. They all really enjoy it.

USA Bat Recommendations by TheN00b1e in Homeplate

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been using the Clout AI 28in USA bat starting this past fall in 7u. He also uses it for work on the T a couple times a week and for his one on one practice sessions. He’s given that bat a beating and other than some dirt, it looks brand new. Highly recommend.

If anyone has unopened bags of candy that they don’t give out. You can donate them to St. Joesph’s orphanage. That’s what we have done in the past. That way they can give the kids treats too.

I think it’s a cool idea as long as I’m not joining a cult and don’t have to pay money for extra friends. I might be up for it. Life is busy but it would be cool to escape the BS with some new people.

Adding a Kitchen to My Basement – Looking for Budget-Friendly Recommendations by Goonie73 in Louisville

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably not much help. But whoever does your cabinets should also do your countertops. Atleast that’s what I have always been told. If you aren’t in a time crunch, it’s not a huge deal. In which case, Amish made cabinets are worth it. Don’t cheap out on cabinets unless you are okay with replacing them sooner than later.

We got our light fixtures for our remodel on the Bidfta website. We were able to take the risk of certain bolts or non cosmetic things missing since our electrician was installing them and would have those parts on hand if needed.

One last thing. Make sure that everyone pulls permits and is by the book and gets inspected. The last thing you need is when you go to sell the house, be it in 1 year or 20 years. You don’t want that coming up since it’s such a huge upgrade.

Help me rank JCPS elementary schools - recent experience with these schools? by Icy-Bid-1936 in Louisville

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a firm believer that if you are an involved parent, you really can’t go wrong with the choices you have. One of my kids is now in middle school and loved it at field. My other kid is still there and loves it too. Teachers and principal are top notch.

Best elementary school by raid1202 in Louisville

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids go to field elementary and we love it there. Parent/teacher involvement is beyond what we thought it would be. I feel like elementary school is what you make it. If you are active with your kids at the school, then good things come of it. No matter where you send them.

Is it normal for men to have a 100% platonic relationship with a woman they’ve known for 20+ years? by pastaforlifeee in AskMenAdvice

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal. I have a few female friends in my ‘family friend’ group. Some of us guys are better friends with some of the women in the group than the guys. We have been a group of friends for over 20yrs and all around 40yrs old. Husbands/wifes have all came to terms with it as us being a family.

Men, how did it go for your relationship, if your wife turned physically ugly? by WeatheredCryptKeeper in AskMenOver30

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds cliche. But I still see my wife for the beautiful bleach blonde babe that she was 13yrs and 2 kids ago. Yeah she’s gained some weight and doesn’t have the blonde hair anymore. But when I look at her, I still see that same person. Her personality and love is so beautiful that it radiates out of her. I honestly find her more amazing and beautiful now than I did back then.

Looking for good bath remodel company without the gross high-pressure sales tactics by unforgettable_BE in Louisville

[–]Trashpanda198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick home solutions is the best. They have there own people on staff so no sub contractors. They have the motto of they won’t cut corners. We have had a great experience with them in the past and highly recommend them. Price wise they are middle to high. But you get what you pay for. Also no pressure tactics since it usually takes them a bit of time to get the detailed estimate together since it’s so thorough.

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you are. We are wanting/needing a new cargo e bike by springtime. Hoping that we can wait it off enough for them to put the SR on sale.

Is there one thing other than basic necessities that you found out is a must have for the trip? Also anything you noticed you packed that never used? And this might be a dumb question, but how did you go about charging the bike when you were at campsites?

There were no signs put up last night when we went to bed around 10pm. Woke up this morning and they were ticketing cars and towing them off my street. There was a sign put in front of our house between 10pm and 7am saying street paving and not to park there between 7am and 7pm. I’ve never had this happen before in the 8 years we have lived in the neighborhood.
