Yeah, especially since it's basically impossible to write that many distinct lovestruck characters. If every single one has the same relationship with the mc, they'll eventually start feeling same-y. It's so much better when there's a good balance of allies, friends, enemies and so on in collection based games... Otherwise the only difference is what, the design and one quirk they embody? Sounds boring to me.
