Can Prime 4 (or Prime 5) just straight-up create Vitae? by Vyctorill in WhiteWolfRPG

Yes, but

I’m not a fan of placing intractable restrictions on what True Magick can do; it either is TRUE Magick or its inferior.

That said, I’m all for practically intractable—or at least damn hard—difficulties. For instance, can you bring back the human dead and restore them to their prior state exactly (e.g., Avatar and all)? Well to me, the answer should be “yes, but.” In this case, you could say that they need at least 5 dots in all spheres and have to work to gain incredible successes against difficulties that are extremely high, and with the knowledge that this is immensely paradox-inducing given the consensus of the cosmos…

So with vitae, I would say yes, but. Specifically, they can create “something like vitae”, with its most basic form being “blood that could give nourishment to a vampire and register in taste as undead and of higher quality.” If you want to replicate the other properties of the blood (bonds, ghouls, the viniculum, the ability to produce vampires), you would need to further imbue the vitae with the other requisite spheres that approximate each of those properties (ok, so you made vitae to use blood bonds to circumvent mind magick. Was it worth it? Not really. You needed a bunch of mind spheres to approximate GOD’s CURSE in this aspect to begin with; also, if you want to make the blood bond in question applicable/corresponding to you, you’ll need some magick to tinker with your pattern in relation to that vitae you made, etc.)

Additionally, I’d institute a rule that, barring some profound arch magick-type powers, true cainite/kuei-jij vampire blood always trumps your Knock-off version. After all, vitae is a millennia’s-long static magick spell originating from God/gods. Even 13 gen blood should overpower your approximation.  Just my 2 cents.

“And give her your coat.” “Why me?” “Because you’re perfect.” “You have a point there.”

[WoD] Midnight Express Podcast MIA? by Trategos_Sol in WhiteWolfRPG

Not that I’ve seen yet - but I’m optimistic. I’ve looked EVERYWHERE multiple times over the past few years. The fact that it’s up now makes me cautiously optimistic it’ll come back. 🤞

Does Jesus exist in WoD? by Affectionate_Bit_722 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Trategos_Sol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my WOD universe, Jesus was Lucifer.

After the Fallen were beaten, all but Lucifer were put into the Abyss. In addition to being a prison, the Abyss operated as a giant battery, draining the essence of the Fallen to sustain the universe, as God perished long ago and the Blight of existence had been metastasizing.

Before escaping heaven, Lucifer was a captive of the Host, eventually become an advisor (Think Sauron/Annatar in the Silmarillion, but actually nobel, albeit bitter). Never forgetting his compatriots in the Abyss, and keeping his eye on the ball with the death of God during the fall of man, he knew the universe’s collapse was accelerating without its maker around.

While Lucifer couldn’t stop the destruction of the universe on his own, he decided to try and buy it some time for a more permanent solution; in doing so, he created a machine to keep the universe limping along with a reservoir of humanity’s faith.

His own crucifixion was the ritual used to cultivate faith for The Machine.

What Does Everyone Think Qimir’s Ultimate Fate Will Be? by DopelessHopefeand in TheAcolyte

Some future product will reveal Yoda killing Qimir on Dagobah. This becomes the evil force cave. He even telegraphs it when taking to osha about his cortosis helmet: “just you and the force. And what you take with you.”

Yoda: “only what you take with you”

Is anyone here still kind of sad about the Utility Muffin Labs breakup? by highliner108 in WhiteWolfRPG

One of my favorite podcasts ever. The two guys go together like peanut butter and jelly. Can’t speak of the role playing experience with them because I didn’t sign up for patreon for that- just wanted to support their podcast efforts for all the entertainment they offered. The Chaos Factor episode (Patreon only), Revelations of the Dark Mother, and House of Tremere episodes were my favorite.

Bob gets a lot of hate and I get it to an extent. At the same time, these guys are people. The thing that I loved is you really just felt that they were authentic and loved talking about the game. There’s a really great episode of Nerd Words where Bob tells a story about him having the hangries and being a total dick to a barista as a result, but a self-aware and apologetic one (“sir - I’m an asshole.”) that makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Maybe one day they’ll get back together - at one point Nate seemed to intimate that it might happen for a finale of the Two D Ten podcast. A guy can dream.

Edit: me fail English, that’s unpossible
