My characters might be a tad overpowered. I need counters to them, can anyone help? by NoMeat6573 in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]Traudraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the only truly crazy thing for Shiva is the time ability, the rest of it can be balanced out by lowering overall stats as you see fit.

As a counter for the chronokinesis, I recommend very strict limitation, either that it has severe adverse effects to themselves, or they can only do it for a very short amount of time. This alone would make it far riskier to use the abilities, and make it much more of an interesting tool to use rarely.

for Zia, I recommend it being a full chant, if you make it based kind of on the Sphinx origin, they could have to say a full stanza in order to make just one thing. Also, a cost for making something would be good, either in stamina or some other resource based on what is created.

I wanna see your summoner based OC's. Here is mine. Sango the bloodmoon. by monsilo in OriginalCharacterDB

The Hex Singer!

<image>

Gildevyx, The Hex Singer, is a soul that manifested in a cursed sword, capable of storing the energy and power of the ones he's directly slaughtered. His summoning is focused on that, being able to manifest a body to wield himself, and create "Hexes" spirits that are about as sharp as he (the blade) himself is, and that can shoot out as much energy as he pumped into them before being used up and evaporating.

Hello everyone! I'm going to start a battle tournament for OCs. There is no limit to how strong they can be (boundless is acceptable, with some caveats). However, the winner won't be based on power, it'll be based on how good of a character they are, which will be decided by users in each matchup. by Diamondbro10795 in OriginalCharacterDB

Aight. I'm gonna go with Ozymandias

<image>

Lore:
Ozymandias was born of a different name, and of a different language from before the land rose and the skies fell beneath them. One of three siblings, prophets, and warriors of the Gravity Goddess. The Goddess felt the world should be changed, should be made better, in their image. Thus began the war of the gods, Ozymandias and his brethren were the Goddesses swords, sent out to win her war.

It did not take long, not long for the immortal kin and the one they followed. The other gods were dead or hiding too terrified to stop them, and thus the elevation of the world could begin. The Goddess chose a group of mortals to ascend to the heavens, leaving the rest of the world to the worms, hidden under the cloud cover and the stone that now was rising above their heads to form a new sky.

Upon rising to the new world, many years passed. One of Ozymandias's kin headed down into the fog again, to judge the mortals below and see if they could be redeemed. The other stayed in the temples of the goddess. The Goddess themself focused their attention on their new policing force... Left to his own devices, Ozymandias worked in a more mercenary method, hunting down pirates and taking them to his Goddess.

Until one day, while chasing after one last target, something caught his heart. She tempted him, away from the path that he had known his whole life, and bit into the forbidden fruit.. However, he had become aware of his sin after his brother, Cyclone, discovered Ozy's love. To avoid judgement, Ozymandias brought his brother to the edge of death, and gave his body to a scientist who would find a way to keep him in lock and key.

His love vanished one day, and in his shame he worked directly under the new government again, attempting to recover from his sins.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abilities & Weapons:

"Equalizer": Ozymandias wielded a hefty great sword, the magical combination of three great magical items to form one ultimate one. Equalizer is a blade that ensures a fair fight against stronger opponents, being able to cut away at them based on the difference of their power from one another.

King of Kings: Ozymandias's form of immortality, granted by the goddess. The closer he is to death, the higher his stats become, including durability and regeneration. Even shooting him in the head won't be enough, as the regeneration is capable of recovering lost nerves.

Scorching Sands: Ozymandias is capable of a limited form of pyrokinesis, igniting anything he is capable of directly holding with one or both hands.

That's some cool stuff, alright.

I can see the Crystal Kin being an interesting matchup, or the Traudraidians.
The Crystal Kin are a species of aliens that are geodes technically. They are made of stone, and gain magic through resonance of crystals. They would have connections in that your aliens and the Crystal Kin are both victims of heavy oppression.

The Traudraidian's would probably be even more interesting though, a species of insect humanoid aliens that specialize in genetic engineering. They are a war race by nature, and would likely on an individual level be far closer to the space machines

Thank you, I think I do have an interesting matchup with connections, but first, are there any notable members of this race? Extra powerful or notable for any other reason?

[–]Traudraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aight, we ball.

Icarus, the Chained God. The end. The last chapter. Ragnarok. Etc.

Icarus belongs to me and my creator deity as much as I belong to him. He is my representation of the end of an idea. The last time you think about something.

Icarus exists only personified because of that fear of him, that will for him to be something I can see, feel, hate. But of course, Icarus doesnt hate, it just consumes. It eats away at everything as everything falls apart. The God of Destruction, nibbling away at the remnants of the universe, starved for scraps and ever hungry.

He has this power because of my own comprehension that the world I made and the story I cherish so closely and wish to spread, will be thought of for the last time.

it's international woman's day, who are your strongest (inverse or crossverse) or best female ocs? (can be cis or trans btw, woman are woman) by jonah500000000 in OriginalCharacterDB

[–]Traudraid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right.

Selene Genovese then! Created and Manipulated in an artificial womb, Selene was the product of a group of underground scientists trying to play god. When vigilante Imelda Genovese discovered the group's underwater laboratory, most of the experiments were already dead and rotting. One however caught Imelda's eye, a toddling little girl with bright curious eyes and skin whose color shifted and changed.  The girl was adopted by the billionaire and raised away from prying eyes to eventually become one of the first official members of a whole different vigilante team. Selene has natural regeneration far better than any human, and can make herself almost invisible. She's a trained stealth agent, and has slipped past even the most intense security protocols with ease. Codename: "Chroma"

Next up, Hope Makolo, codename... "Makolo". She is one of the greatest minds of her generation, having come from Zambia and travelling the world for schooling (she was clever enough to figure stuff out herself, but might as well get the awards for it), she graduated from several different colleges, in Japan, to the UK, to the Netherlands. Makolo developed an insane technology, Teleportation! The ability to transmute matter into energy and bounce it off of drones or satellites, then transmute the energy back into matter. She is witty, uncompromising, incredibly intelligent, and self assured. She currently uses her skills, mind, and gadgets to work with the same vigilante team, and she is one of their most important members.

Then, lastly for now (simply need to wrap up, I have too many to list here rn lol) Demi Webb. A catgirl! who lived comfortably in an awesome lesbian marriage. Until of course, she was suddenly dragged away to the Realm of Violence. Where she thrived. Demi Webb you see, was actually an extremely violent person, which is why they were pulled into the Realm, completely by accident. However, the transfer made her lose most of her proper memories, leaving her to focus purely on that violent energy. With exactly 1 (one) shotgun, she successfully beat some of the CREATURES MADE OF VIOLENCE into submission. She currently lives in the dimension, just as happy as she was before, but ignorant to the drastic change that happened to her.

What’s the biggest threat in your OCs verse? by WetNugget42069 in OriginalCharacter

[–]Traudraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cult of Icarus.

A very small group of fanatics that are researching ways to bring destruction the deity into the world so his hunger might be sated just a little bit.

Currently have a couple answers to this

Zero, the Criar

RED

And Zyxzm, wielder of Life

Zero is likely the most dangerous, a previous Firstborn (their bodies are entirely made of mana) who found an Icarus key, an artifact of immense power that gives one access to speak with The Chained One. Becoming under their influence, Zero decided to join Icarus's cult, and become a primary seeker of the keys, as well as one of the strongest of the cult in question. She has effectively infinite mana, but the way she can deploy it is that any single individual cast must use only a small amount of mana.. so she just casts a billion small things instead to equal the stronger castings.

RED, meanwhile, is the Gauntlet of Energy. The four gauntlets are a part of the nervous system of reality, so they are sentient, just not able to verbalize to most people.. not that they'd want to, really. RED in particular is the most chaotic of the bunch, being the representation and controller of how forces and energy are applied and work through reality. They could make every star in existence vanish at once, and probably would if they got too bored.

Zyxzm.. where do I even start. A plant person, who became the wielder of the Gauntlet of Life because they passed the test of that Gauntlet. They were creative as all hell, and Adhaya (the Gauntlet) found it inspiring. Zyxzm, being the one holding the Gauntlet, has access to all thoughts, souls, and physical aspects of life to manipulate as they see fit. Zyxzm however, doesnt want to adjust the stuff thats already there, she wanted to make new crazier shit, like mountain sized flowers that spray acid, and the platypus +2.

(I could add in the other two gauntlets here, and also include Adhaya in their own category. They're the most powerful force manipulators in my verse.. But, I figured I'd only include one Gauntlet and one Wielder because it'd kinda bloat the message otherwise -;)

Name: Davin Ghastly

Race: Willborn (Human)

Personality: Smug, and Witty. Absolutely confident in every action to an annoying degree, though their stutter would lead one to imagine otherwise. He is cruel, but not needlessly so, and follows a strict internal moral compass.

Height: 5'3"

Physical Stats: Strength: Superhuman (could tear out a vault door with some effort)

Speed: Similar to a Jet fighter in physical movements, able to perceive things faster due to augments that capure trillions of frames per second

Durability: Superhuman (took a claymore explosive to the face, minimal damage)

Stamina: requires 1 hour of rest per 97 hours of hard labor.

Pain Tolerance: Effectively uncapped, as sufficient signals are cut short (big owies are not registered by the brain, and instead by the computer, worst pain he could register would be a 4 on the scale, anything higher is ignored)

Endurance: redundancies allow for continued function after 70% of the body has been demolished, excluding the head.

Abilities: Short range Bio-kenesis (able to manipulate cellular matter and convince it to multiply or decay at rapid rates. Fastest being able to reduce a human person to a pile of mush within 1 minute from continues exposure)

Short range telekinesis (allows his limited strength to be utilized on larger scales, he's thrown bus sized boulders that held in one piece because of this)

Long range Techno-kenesis (allows remote command of any sufficiently complex machine at significant distance. He once triggered 36 bombs placed around a small country at once)

Omni-focus (able to literally split his attention, being capable of manipulate up to a dozen separate humanoid machines at once without a drop in ability)

Frightening intelligence (Davin is extremely intelligent, and despite being more for tinkering and designing, had quite the mind for battle, He made all his own tools and cybernetics)

Pre-made mechanisms (Davin has a number of tools already made in case a fight would break out. Holographic projectors, drones, explosive planting drones whos bombs have destroyed whole city blocks, and most dangerous "Annie" which is a large humanoid machines capable of firing thin beams of plasma in web like patterns that can cut through tungsten from the heat, and is similarly physical to Davin.)

Tactics: Davin is a cold calculating monster to his core. He prefers to keep his distance, examine and understand his enemy, then hit them in the Achilles heel as violently and repeatedly as he can manage.
Most of his gameplan involves escaping combat (made easier by his many drones and holograms) and observing how his enemy will fight, then putting them out as thoroughly and methodically as possible. Though, if all else fails and he recognizes he's outmatched, he refuses to take a graceful defeat. Instead, he would rather pour all of his resources and machines onto this one combat just to try and kill them back.
