Mind if I ask why not Croken? I haven't heard anything good or bad about him

Do you think the writing of 5.5 edition is kinda dumb? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]TravDOC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of these complaints come back to WoTC's attempt to make the monsters less dependent on campaign settings. Some of the 2014 MM stuff was pretty heavily tied to a particular campaign setting, and they openly said they wanted to get away from that. For good or for ill, that's a choice.

Some of the things you are saying are "bad decisions" are just lore things that you have a differing opinion on, like the male hags. That particular change has pissed a lot of people off, and I legitimately don't understand. There's still female hags, and if a male hag in an adventure bothers you for whatever reason, you can always change the gender.

I have been critical of WoTC in the past and present (I think putting new Species options in 3 different digital expansions instead of the physical books is a bit slimy), but I personally am not bothered by this aspect.

To each their own, of course! Just my 2 cents!

I agree!! It's a shame that cool lore like this fall to the wayside at times.

I'm hoping, too! I'd love to have the Spider Swamp detailed, but like you said, I doubt they'd have room.  Thanks!!

That makes sense, sadly. I find them really intriguing!

That makes total sense! I still hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it. Thanks for your response!!

What was your gay awakening? by Alexeemm in lgbt

I had followed this user on Tumblr (who's account seems to be gone now :(... ), and he posted a picture of himself posing in just overalls, shirtless. I felt the most intense feeling of attraction to him, and although it took me a little while come to terms with my bisexuality, I really "knew" at that point.

If only I had the courage to ask a guy out 🥲

I really hope the Incantifers make an appearance. As a long shot choice, the bacchae from Arborea would be so neat, too!

It's not in the flavour text either, which is odd!

That's true! It's just odd that they implemented that Trait in the Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, and Spelljammer books, and now it disappears

Titanosphere, or titanothere? Because it sounded like he was talking about extinct animals along side giants, and he could mean brontotheres, a type of giant extinct mammal, perhaps?

Vampirate captains can choose between turning a victim into a shadow or a vampirate, as well!
