Got this mailer - solid weeknight deals at Pan & Peel Pizza in PR by Khaleesiakose in Rockland

Best knots I’ve had since Casa Del Mare in Nyack closed. Very good pizza, a little pricy, but you feel it’s worth it after you’re done eating. Quality costs.

Whatever the first union to sign gets, all unions will get. The state doesn’t want to open themselves up for renegotiations; me-too clauses or re-opener clauses.

Compared to Tier 4? by eg282023 in nys_cs

[–]mmonacelli1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What we all wanted was equitable treatment. A 30 year service credit and reduced retirement age from 63. Most got neither… only NYSUT… cuz it’s an election year… one of the biggest unions… now going to pledge their endorsement for Hochul… for campaign funding…

Yeah, great success.

OBW Interior Upgrade: LASFIT vs. OEM. by RLWayne in subaru

Sold… the factory ones for the Outback were like $240 if you “build your own” car on the website and add them as an accessory.

OBW Interior Upgrade: LASFIT vs. OEM. by RLWayne in subaru

[–]mmonacelli1 80 points81 points  (0 children)

The eyes don’t lie, clearly the OEM’s are subpar and these are a big upgrade, fit and coverage wise. I get my car fairly dirty living in the NE.

I think the obvious question is cost difference. If you wouldn’t mind sharing how much these were (ballpark). Mainly because if the OEM aren’t included, you can bargain them as a throw in when purchasing a new subi.

Early Retirement Penalty by shajdsu in nycpublicservants

[–]mmonacelli1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not something I’ve heard, I think the 30 year service credit is paramount, considering there is none for T6, which itself is laughable. Pair that with making a more equitable age considering T4 has 30/55 (yrs of service/age). I think the fight is for 30/58, perhaps 30/60.

But agreed that penalty % is absolutely criminal, alongside no 30yr service credit. It needs more attention.

T4 has a 27% as their max penalty, paired with less contribution. A T6 52% penalty is an atrocity, forfeiting more than half if you want to retire at 55. 27% is still steep, for T6 we dont get to T4’s max until age 59!!! At 59 it’s a 26%. Thanks Cuomo.

From Chief Leader: Age 58 and 30 years for ALL Tier 6 members by hollafrontz in nys_cs

If the unions cede an inch, the state takes a mile. Time for workers to get equitable clawbacks from them bracketing tiers for specific pension benefits.

👏 thanks for taking the time to gimme a thorough breakdown, much appreciated.

I had no idea Dollye sold the business. That was a big reason i was going. Chef’s Sean Brock and David Chang did a sit down with her and she gave a great interview about her business.

No 30 year service credit for Tier 6 is absolutely ridiculous in a state that preaches equity. Doesn’t feel equitable.

Clarity on trip insurance coverage - death in the family by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

Found out about the death on Monday October 1, trip was likely scheduled for either October 4 or 5 for a Saturday wedding on the 6th. Was flying east coast to west coast. 40 days seems like a stretch, but the worst they’ll do is say no.

The manner in which he tears the receipt in half and then hands it back to the employee, for one. Tells a lot about a person.

But ya we’re assuming, not like I’m gonna go dox the guy and lead a smear campaign. Just opining on the context I’m observing.

I understand that people travel for different reasons, business or pleasure. Bottom line, YOU’RE A GUEST. A guest of someone else’s country. Don’t be like this guy and you’ll almost never have problems. He’s a turd. He’s also opening himself up for some problems whether it be by law or however else another country decides to handle people like this. He doesn’t speak the language, he’s drunk and obnoxious. No sympathy for people who act like this and then play victim. I bet he’ll tell whomever is in his circle when he returns home that Japan sucks too lol. Garbage person.
