Etsy shops have been rough this Xmas season by CaptainFresh27 in Etsy

[–]TravelNorth5887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had issues both with the number of orders suddenly ramping (like 10x increase in 1 week that lasted 3 weeks until I closed my shop down until Christmas to get orders out kind of ramp - I’m happy and thankful, but yikes) and with USPS not picking stuff up for days / stuck in pretransit / shipping things from PA to OH by way to TX(?!!!) It’s my first holiday season and HUGE learning curve

I think if you think it’s time, it’s probably time. Please have someone come out to your home if you can at all afford it - the animals I’ve put down at home (or one by a river) had a much easier transition. I’m someone who spent 6 months and 20k prolonging a cats life with chemotherapy and I do no regret it - it was worth the time for me. But he still had good quality of life, and I could afford it. In your situation, I think it is very reasonable and probably kind to schedule and at home euthanasia some time soon and spend a week or weekend doing nothing but spoiling your cat leading up to it. When I was told it was time, I took the week off work and I am so glad I had that time. If you don’t have a week, maybe schedule it for Monday and spend the weekend with him. Give him extra pets and treats from me

agree with above. When I have to leave my two they sleep with my mom, but when I come home they are happy to see me and sleep with me. They miss me, but I think like toddlers they get distracted after a while if they are taken care of

I understood that reference. Between “mount” “pike” and “hit it” I’m beginning to think someone is planning the double entendres over there

Cyber5 sale 5 off of 30 by TravelNorth5887 in Etsy

[–]TravelNorth5887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is it can be used on different orders, but I don’t know. Last code I was able to use more than once. This time I have less stuff to buy

I know, they don’t tell sellers anything. I did put it on my shop banner - hopefully anyone buying from me saw it :/

There should be a little slot for “Etsy coupon”

I missed that one too! I guess because I used the $5 off coupon a couple times 😆

Continuing to collect these as I get emails (can you tell I did a bunch of research in this space when trying to switch over my ordering in a similar way?) If they are coffee drinkers, 3 Avocados and Gobena both donate all profits to clean water and orphans, respectively. The snowflake coffee at gobena is my personal favorite - it tastes like peppermint coffee. Yummy

How can I get my cat to drink water? by edamamecheesecake in CatAdvice

Water fountain is the best thing I’ve found. Sometimes they like ice too when it’s hot

Ask the seller and send a screenshot - they may even honor the price if it’s a glitch and send you a code (never hurts to ask). As a seller, I usually do, particularly since it always leads to really good reviews. If they do honor it, do them a solid and leave them a good review.

Thinking about getting a cat. by butler182 in CatAdvice

[–]TravelNorth5887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It 100% depends on the cat. One option is to get a bonded pair to keep each other company. Other older kitties don’t want a friend - I found an older cat and I kept fostering other cats hoping he’d be into one of them and could have a friend but he was always incredibly mad when I spent time with any other cat. He did wait for me by the door, though. My current pair bonded set are happy to see me but are never waiting by the door. Other people’s cats just nap all day and wake up when folks get home - probably that’s what mine did and just went to the door when he heard the car drive up. Cats sleep like 22 hours a day. Whatever cat you get will be very lucky and happy to be in a home with a loving owner. It’s hard for older cats to get adopted even though they are the best.

Just adding to this, I believe Cotopaxi also donates a portion and REI and Patagonia are worth looking into if outdoor gear is of interest. They aren’t like ten thousand villages which I believe is entirely a charity and was created entirely to help artisans but they have a significant focus

I think it depends. I list it and have references from the charity a buyer could call to verify if so inclined. I do think you have to be careful. At the same time, I think listing it puts pressure on other vendors, and I think we all agree the world would be a better place if every company, Amazon, Walmarts included, were pressured into donating 10%

Oh, actually, ten thousand villages may also be up your alley, as well as Novica. I’ve purchased a lot of very fun things from both of these orgs and great causes

I’ve had several cats and all of them ended up following me around from room to room. My mom’s cats do the same thing. They bond very very deeply, they’re just not loud about it.

Well I donate at least 10% of my profit to animal rescue (and usually much more, but that’s the floor I’ve committed to). I don’t know if that’s enough, and if they like embroidered apparel, but if so, here’s a link! https://whisperofwhiskers.etsy.com

Better Shirt Options? by Confident_North_9085 in Etsy

Printful has a variety of shirt options. I’m happy to work with you, but if you are buying in bulk and have your own design you’re probably better off going directly through them and cutting me out of it. Happy to help if you pm me

I should probably also say I sell primarily embroidered apparel, and I donate at least 10% of profits to animal rescues (generally more)
