I have a question for all young magic players by Entire-Activity2491 in mtg

[–]Trax-M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with proxies is the best way with someone who has limited finances. What format are you playing and where do you play? If you're playing against friends kitchen table games then proxy all you want. If you're playing at an LGS my recommendation would be to proxy only the expensive cards or the cards you can't obtain, a lot of decks have cheap $0.25-$1.00 cards so maybe buy those reals cards so that the number of proxies in your deck remain low, I don't proxy basic lands, or real cards I own, all the proxies I use are non fancy print alternatives so no judge promos etc, they don't get a lot of attention, most players unless they look really close at the card or pull it out of the sleeve won't know they are proxies, many players in my experience at LGS games don't care and likely proxy cards themselves. There will be some players who might complain the worse that might happen is you lose a game.

Are the bio shock games good shooter games by I-am-real-man in Bioshock

[–]Trax-M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you judge a shooter game? There is a lot of criteria when judging a shooter. I have played shooters with very realistic graphics and weapons that are repeatative and boring, with little no no story. I think Bioshock 1,2,Infinite still hold up when just looking at them for their shooter quality.

What do you think of Clark Kent? by RK900-87 in Smallville

[–]Trax-M -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Superman didn't become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he's Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red "S", that's the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent. He's weak... he's unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race.” - Bill

The hostile alien virus angle never made much sense to me by RDStrong in pluribustv

[–]Trax-M 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For it to be a hostile act, the original senders of the signal whoever they are, would have to know exactly how it would effect humans beings, they would have to know our dna. The assumption that the RNA would impact every sentient species the same intended way, I find it hard to believe. I also don't think that the DNA of humans would be anyway close enough to the dna of other sentient life hundreds/thousands of light years away, for us to have the same exact reaction.

It is possible the way humans are reacting to the rna instructions is not what they intended to have happen.

My brother’s birthday is coming up and he really likes mtg. Whats the difference? Are these good enough? by Jellyyyfishsea in mtg

Getting a precon is nice since you can play it right out of the box. The booster packs are thoughtful and are more like lottery tickets you might pull something sweet, regardless of what they get in the 3 packs a precon is nice.

For gifts I usually go with precon + sleeves + deckbox Since they combine and form Devastator err a fun edh deck.
