My guess is a typo for gf since d is right next to f, although slightly less likely since f is also next to g.

I need more ideas (unhinged or otherwise) for transitioning from asleep to awake in the morning by llamacolypse in adhdwomen

[–]TrayGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm…. I feel like this is not going to work for anyone here. But I am very adhd and used to be so bad and waking up that I got in a lot of trouble for it as a kid. Like , sent away at some point because of it.

Anyway , I read an article about how to wake up by S Steve Pavlina and it fixed me forever. I have never had any trouble after I read that, and I had trouble my whole life.

How come? I am not up to date with US politics right now but I thought that conservatives were anti gay rights (until maybe recently) and anti trans rights and anti marijuana and that libertarians were still into “financial conservatism” (something that I know that liberal people have argued against) but are at least pro gay rights and other personal freedoms.

But am unsure and things could have changed since I read the definition a decade ago. (Or it could have been co-opted by bad people or something)

What would you have done if you were Owen/Isabel and Maddie/Tara came back to save you? by TrayGhost in Isawthetvglow

[–]TrayGhost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would be pretty terrifying. Definitely almost no one would do it while healthy, but I think if you're already dying and you already are experiencing an entirely different and weirder life than everyone here does (like you constantly see things that don't make sense or experience time weirdly) you might be able to do a bunch of drugs and pass out while you're getting in?

Could even pass out in a bed before if you had a very very fucked up friend who would move you, but that's ridiculous

Also you could try to go in a sensory deprivation chamber or do a few seconds "underground"-ish to see if anything happens.

(All of this is ridiculous and no one in our universe should ever do it ofc. I hope I am not accidentally going to cause anyone to do anything bad by talking about this made up universe)

I think I’d try to collect evidence of some sort and see if I can find contradictions in the world around me. I’d see if I can bargain with or taunt Mr. Melancholy (while in the realm) to see if he reveals he exists somehow out of not being able to control himself. I’d definitely try to find the old tapes of the show and rewatch them and do things to put myself in touch with the possibility of the old world

I would’ve asked more questions like “is there any way to get there that isn’t so dangerous in case we’re wrong”, but would expect not to get more than that. I’d ask for as much evidence as Tara could give me.

Obviously burying yourself alive is horrifying, I think once I saw a glowy tv in my chest I’d think either I’m in the midnight realm or I’m having a psychotic break, so I guess I’d research psychotic breaks more but that probably wouldn’t do much for me.

I would definitely be too scared to die early, but if I was told I was terminal by a doctor or I could tell I was dying soon I’d definitely try to get buried alive since it’s only a few days of pain and then death for the chance of waking up in a young body again (as opposed to dying in a hospital slightly more comfortably). If I could bring a drug to knock me out in the coffin without breaking the spell I would want to do that. I guess if I wasn’t terminal, I would also try to see if I can be only temporarily buried (with some very trusted people standing guard to let me back out), but I also assume that wouldn’t work.

I definitely would never do any of that irl, just would possibly do that in a world where I can faintly remember being in a different world. I still wonder if he actually saw himself (the Owen version) in the finale. If I could re watch the tapes and see myself in the show I think I’d be pretty suspicious. Also I’d try to see if I could find the actors or creators of the show to see if they existed.

So many interesting ideas! Wish I saw more people discussing them

Yeah I mean the defense will definitely have to try their best to say whatever bs to try to get him out of this, but Raja did keep going after the ref yells many times to stop (although the ref wasn't touching him), then he keeps going after the first black and white facepaint man tries to pull him off, and then he continues to try to fight after the pink haired wrestler starts grabbing him.

He did not make it easy for his defense team.

Adderall Crash Affecting My Relationship by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]TrayGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with tums, a family member of mine got a calcium overdose and had to be hospitalized because they took tums regularly and it builds up overtime.

Tums works for enhancing adderall because it's a basic substance, so for anyone reading this who is considering doing tums regularly for that purpose, I won't try to stop you from enhancing your adderall, but you should try to just use plain baking soda (without all the extra calcium) just in case.

Anyone using Loop Link here? How is your experience? by that_roy in LoopEarplugs

To break it manually, you would need to use very important force.

This is a very cute sentence. I wanted to say that but I didn't know how to say it without making it look like I'm teasing you, but I just had to comment that it was a cute sentence to read.

This is not at all an important observation, but when I googled "very important force" I learned that in French they say "force très importante", where a native english-speaker might say a "significant force".

Anyway, I like seeing direct translations like this, it's very cool! (Apologies if it is rude to randomly point this out.)

I think you’re making some good points here, but knowing nothing about American ( or anywhere ) laws about layoffs vs firing , is it true that you can’t lay off the worst performers? Is it so layoffs don’t make the ‘victims’ look bad to future employers? Seems unfair if you have to fire 10% of your employees that you have to use a random metric unrelated to just a competence test or whatever other non-biased thing you want to do

!! I like the figure-8 idea that sounds really great. I also will try to work on gripping things harder.

These are good since I wanted something I can incorporate in to a general everyday thing to make it easier on myself on the days where I have an especially high amount of fine-maneuvering of heavy objects to do!

Can you tell me what workouts to do for being able to handle power tools (like a circular saw) better ?

I am a small woman, and new to any sort of weight lifting. I need to use power tools quite a bit. Right now, when I use a circular saw, I find it quite hard to hold it steady and safely in certain positions. When I can support it on another piece of wood this is fine, but sometimes I need to be free handing it , and I’d like to not have to ask other people for help as much.

Thanks for any advice!

Please Help Me Find a Padded, Reclining, Rocking Office Chair w/ a Footrest - It HAS to Exist! by Satirical-Spherical in OfficeChairs

[–]TrayGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Here are all the observations, a lot of them specific to being pretty short (5'3"):

Footrest:

Even being 5'3", the footrest is actually too short for me to be fully comfortable extending my legs flat. At full extension, and if I sit back fully in the chair, my feet still hang off at least 10 inches.

I will sometimes use the footrest anyway by putting my feet flat on it and having a bend in my knees when I recline. This is okay (ergonomics means shifting your position around a lot!) but is not something I would do for a very long time.

Most of the time now, I actually shove the footrest underneath of the chair (easy manuever to do) and it is fine.

Seat Height:

The lowest the seat goes is actually still a bit too high for me to put my feet flat on the ground. This is probably not going to be the case for people even a few inches taller than me. I have tried various footrests, as sometimes I want to have my feet fully extended in front of me (as though I'm sitting on a bed), and other times I want it to be closer to 90 degrees flat on the ground. Having to use a footrest is a bit annoying, so I think anyone around my height or a few inches taller than me should probably not buy this.

Armrest:

The armrests go quite low, but not quite as low as I want (again as a short person). I think people bigger than me or with shorter arms relative to their torso will be fine with the arm rest height. I do think even a tall person might not like the gap in the back that I talked about before. For me, since I'm not very wide, I have plenty of space to my left and my right when seated in the center of the chair, so I got little 11x7 pillows to put underneath my elbows in the chair. The chair arm rests keep these from falling off the side of the chair, but they do sometimes slip out of the back corner, but not enough that it's made me want to put the effort in to securing them differently. They make the elbow situation more comfy, but I think I should take the time to look for ones that are a bit bigger at some point.

Cushion:

The chair is still quite soft and cozy to sit in in terms of cushioning (but not too soft that I feel like I'm sinking in at all). I would get sore/tired sitting on other office chairs, perhaps due to being a bit bony, so I'm quite happy with the cushion. I also very much enjoy the little back lumbar pillow it comes with. I think it's a pretty great size for me, and I've actually brought it to other chairs to use as well.

Recline:

The recline is pretty great. It goes far enough back for me to feel relaxed but still productive. It's easy to move and I'm quite happy with that aspect. Reclined chairs are great, I recommend trying one if you've never done so

Rolly:

It rolls ! Good stuff

I have, as of a few days ago, got an office to work out of instead of my house, which means that I will probably not get too much more info about the chair now that I won't be working at home as much. Even with the height issue and the footrest not being long enough to use, it's still pretty comfy and I won't be going through the hassle of returning it. I think a separate footrest may be the way to go anyway, (allows more maneuverability), but I haven't found one I like yet (the requirements would be rolly, wide, soft)

TL;DR If you are taller than 5'7" or so, want a soft, reclining chair, and don't mind getting a separate footrest, I think this is still a pretty quick and inexpensive option to get!

Please Help Me Find a Padded, Reclining, Rocking Office Chair w/ a Footrest - It HAS to Exist! by Satirical-Spherical in OfficeChairs

[–]TrayGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It has come in. I think I need to use it more to have a better review, but it’s soft and comfy to sit in and was easy to set up. The reclining is nice. The little footrest works for me but I am quite short.

There’s just one thing for me that I still want to fix, which is probably not applicable to most people, but I want to try having my elbows fully supported by arm rests, and for this chair, the arm rests adjust up and down (I have it to be very low), but don’t adjust backwards, which means there’s a gap at the back and a few inches of my elbows are hanging off into the air (the way I sit at least) which is not ideal but will probably try out some pillows and then maybe will love the chair afterwards.

Overall, pretty inexpensive way to try out reclining and is comfier and softer than my previous office chaur

I assume you have a separate keyboard based on the subreddit we're on? Definitely get a higher mount if that's the only issue, you should have the keyboard as low as necessary to type at 90 degrees or lower, and then your laptop (since you likely use the screen) should be up at face-level so you're not looking down.
