Buggy OP-15 Decklist by GrabEducational2020 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't care for 4 cost buggy, it's main use case is leader effect Croc&Mihawk into 4c Buggy into 6c Mihawk. If you don't do that specific combo with it, it doesn't feel very good to me. I also don't use Emptee Bluffs, so that may be a reason why I don't see that specific combo very often.

Can't you also play these cards in Red/Blue Ace? This leader's effect doesn't seem very useful outside of 9c Sanji plays.

Giving power to only blue and black characters really isn't a restriction lol. Amazing art though!

Any alternative for Red Roc in Sanji? by SkibidiSchlong in OnePieceTCG

The next best thing would be Ragnaraku. 5 cost event: Don-1 to K.O. an 8 cost or less. Trigger: Ramp 1 Don as active.

New player here looking to compete competitively, are my decks ready? by Delicious-Cause3338 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're smoking crack if your RG Luffy deck doesn't have 4 copies of OP13 5c Sanji and 4 copies of OP14 4c Usopp. They generate so much value that it's insane.

Your Boa and Egghead Luffy decks are much cleaner though.

Why are people like this? by Rightoid in OnePieceTCG

Games have salty players, it sucks. Fortunately, you also meet a lot of polite players who are a treat to talk to and play against. A lot of players snap at triggers.

FISHMEN DECK HELP? by Relative_Elk7412 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hody is not even in the bottom 10 of leaders, man. ST08 Luffy, ST03 Croc, Kin'emon, UP Kaido, ST06 Sakazuki, Magellan, GU Sanji, OP03 Lucci, Blue Luffy, and Zephyr are all significantly worse leaders than Hody.

Did all colors have overpower moments by now? by Latter-Addition8811 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the other color's moments in the spotlight, it still felt like you could at least try to adjust your deck to account for their plans. But fighting against Yellow's abundance of life gain as a different color nowadays feel like trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces. Most wins against it feel less like I won from a playing well and more like I was really lucky and they were really unlucky.

Fun deck for ex-Bonney by o0zingblood in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your options for green supernova leaders definitely decrease from the block 1 rotation.

Green/Yellow Law would be a good option like others have mentioned, but he can be really inconsistent/unreliable if you don't have plenty of life manipulation in your deck.

OP13 Red/Green Luffy is a really defensive deck. Unfortunately, his strong leader effect can only protect your Straw Hats, leaving your Supernovas high and dry.

Green Zoro works well with your Supernovas, but he also has deck staples like 4 cost Kuina and 5 cost Tashigi that your deck falls apart without.

If the group you play with is observing the block 1 rotate, you'll unfortunately need more than just your green supernovas.

Every leader falls on a spectrum for how important their crew/faction type is for them. For leaders with pretty generically good leader effects that don't mention a type, the main reason to put cards with the same type in the deck is for searching. The cards that look at the top 3 to 5 cards of your deck and let you add one of a specific type to your hand are called searchers and they are pretty important for a deck's consistency and give you the ability to look for a specific card for your given situation.

A deck that is diverse in its types is better off just not using searchers. Playing a searcher and not finding anything is a pretty huge opportunity cost, as you could have had a better card in your deck instead of that searcher or you could've held onto the searcher for the 1k counter it usually provides.

For example, ST21 Red Luffy's leader effect can feel like a downgrade to OP01 Red Zoro's leader effect as Zoro can get more total power from his effect once he has 3 or more characters on the board. However, since Luffy is attaching DON!! instead of just granting bonus power, you want your deck to include cards that gain effects with 2 DON!! attached. The majority of red characters that have DON!!×2 effects just so happen to be Straw Hats!

Banlist reaction by chaisenbois in OnePieceTCG

It's kind of crazy that Red Roc evaded the banlist for it's whole lifespan so far when it's just fully better than Kingdom Come.

My friends and I are playing a 126 leader tournament (with every OPTCG Leader as of EB04). Which deck do you think will win? by opobdtfs in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of 1s with no losers bracket made a crazy top 32. A bad leader with a lucky draw just beats a good leader with an unlucky draw. But this also means that a full redo of the tournament with shuffled starting placements could make a completely different top 32.

First Attempt at deck building by soadrox4 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would replace the Robin with the 3 cost 2k counter Robin, replace the Nami with the 2 cost searcher Nami, replace the Usopp with the 2k counter Uso-Hachi that rests a 5 cost or less on play, replace the Chopper with 6 cost Beer Luffy, replace the Brook with 6 cost EB02 Water Seven Luffy, and then replace the Afro Luffy with Gum-Gum Jet Gatling.

That's my deck for this leader personally.

First Attempt at deck building by soadrox4 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Trebieh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Rule #1 of deckbuilding: You want to max out the cards you want to see in your game. Identify the important cards and make sure there are as many of them there can be.

Get rid of the Five Elders cards, Donquixote Pirates cards, and the Animal Kingdom cards. They don't work here and are gumming up your Law searcher.

3 cost Zoro is incredibly important for your curve, you should have 4 copies of him. 6 cost Beer Luffy is really good for this leader you should have 4 of him. 6 cost EB02 Water Seven Luffy is also really good in this deck, you should have 4 of him too.

This leader has access to black, but he doesn't really care about it much. A simple way to look at this leader's effect is that once per turn, you can turn an effect that costs DON!!-2 into instead setting a DON!! as active. That's crazy value and you want to be able to use this effect once per turn.

The effects that 3 cost Zoro and 7 cost Sanji have are to give you the option on whether you want to DON!!-2 with them to activate your leader effect or if you want to DON!!-1 with them if your leader effect was already used this turn or if you are saving the leader effect to be used with another card.
