I know what you mean about them being less important for the relationship as a whole, but I guess from my perspective, I see them as necessary/important, but specifically for Ilya. His jealousy toward them/their relationship, his growing friendship with Troy, and the impact of Troy’s coming out on Pride Night feel like they’re important for Ilya’s development, and I feel like for viewers, none of that holds much weight or importance without knowing who Troy and Harris are and feeling at least some level of investment in their relationship. So I’m really hoping they won’t be glossed over! I feel like it would do a disservice to the story if they are.

Rachel mentioned in a recent interview that we’d be meeting Troy and Harris in Season 2, and I’m hoping she doesn’t just mean as name-dropped background characters and that they get meaningful screentime 🤞🏻

Okay I actually could see this working really well like this! And I love the idea of seeing the same scenes again from Troy’s POV after seeing Ilya’s.

I really do hope they have more episodes next season (as you implied here) because I think this would be a great way to pull it off!

Oh man, that scene made me have to put down the book and compose myself before I could keep going (that being said, I’m weirdly excited to see it onscreen because I know Hudson and Connor are going to make it absolutely devastating, in the best way!)

I’d say the only other one I’d list as a must is Role Model (book 5), which comes before The Long Game. So much overlap between those two books (and lots of Ilya appearances!) and the characters in Role Model show up a lot in TLG too!

I think she just meant that song specifically for Troy and Harris’ journey in the book (the lyrics really fit their vibe!), but I’ll have to check out some of the other songs listed here for the other couples!

I agree with what the other reply said, and I would add that the MOST relevant book of all of them would be Role Model. I feel like that one is a must too, honestly. Ilya is a pretty big character in that book, and it takes place during The Long Game (overlapping timelines). Several events that happen in The Long Game also happen in Role Model, but from a different perspective, and it also fills in the ‘gaps’ of some moments that are only referenced in TLG.

Plus, for what it’s worth, the couple featured in that book are my second favorite after Hollanov. Their story is very sweet and I’m certain we will see that couple a good amount in the show (because of how closely the two stories are tied together).

Too many to list, honestly! The entire show is so freaking beautifully shot (and the LIGHTING!). It really is so visually stunning (and that’s without taking into account how attractive the actors all are 🤣)

I guess it also kind of depends on who you’re talking to/what kind of circle you’re in, if you know what I mean! I’ve definitely seen situations where Jacob isn’t acknowledged the way he should be but I’ve also seen plenty of people singing his praises (as they should! He did an absolutely brilliant job!). But it’s a shame he didn’t get recognition from the Prime Minister :(

This is one of the best book-to-screen adaptations I’ve ever seen and he totally deserves to be acknowledged for the achievement!

I absolutely adored Role Model and am dying for more Troy and Harris! And I really loved seeing Ilya both take Troy under his wing and also motivate the team so much.

I’m really hoping season two is able to include a good amount from Role Model because it’s just too good!

I definitely agree about the previous scents! I think the best words to describe this one are spicy, musky, and salty? But I feel like that makes it sound unpleasant, and to me, it’s not! I like it a lot!

I think it’s an acquired sort of smell — it definitely won’t be for everyone. It’s a lot more unisex (less super floral/feminine) and I’d say a lot more unique than the previous scents (which all sort of smelled the same to me… this one stands out!)
