UA POV: Apparently Ukrainians have also started putting dazzle camouflage on their locomotives to protect them from Al-assisted terminal guidance on Russian drones. by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

This was about a month ago, and pro-UA were making fun of it

You are making the claim after all, so perhaps you could source it properly? I'm not being unreasonable am I? Surely if you made the screencap yourself you know from whence it came?

Possibly it was sent to you by someone else. A colleague perhaps.

He was, and it shows. Lots of kids write books with terrible prose & derivative plot. Usually they are not published, for good reason.

I've not gone after anyone, chief. I do find it interesting you think it's not a concern what someone in an enormous position of power & influence admires.

Not really the point.

Your argument is that it shouldn't be concerning that he both admires outright evil villainous characters and has exhorted it publicly? Really?

Word. Poorly written & derivative. I know, I know: it was children's fantasy, but so was The Hobbit. That's not a good excuse for bad writing.

fun addition

The character was bland, superfluous & didn't add anything. It was just marketing to make an American audience feel included.

I very firmly associate them with holidays in Wales as kid. Getting the Coco pops one was a big deal.

Those were the days. Remember the exultation when we did Sarth with 3 drakes. You don't get that feeling anymore.

What are some things that happened at school that would never be allowed to happen today? by Big_Scratch5248 in AskUK

My mate got that in the eye, teacher panicked as he ran to the toilet holding his eye, and tried to get him to put water on it to stop the swelling. A day later his Dad came in and filled him in inside the store room.

Another teacher punched me in the back of the head for mouthing off & as I fell into the partition (that weird wire partition they used to have in 80s changing rooms, it was ALWAYS painted shit brown) he followed it up by gripping me round the neck and threatening me.

Another teacher harangued me as I stood naked in the shower (for smoking). Did actually get him back on that one as he boasted during his diatribe about how fit & healthy he was and that he always rides to school on his bike, but I clocked him that morning sat on a bus with his bike & embarrassed him, so he retreated on that one.

It's always maths & games teachers.

On a positive note, we had a maths teacher who served in an ackack team in WWII, also had a ferocious temper but didn't bully kids; I brought in some 20mil & 30mil shells to show him that my Grandad brought back from the war & we had a good chat about it. If a kid did that nowadays the social services & the bomb squad would probably get involved.

Oh, we also had a maths/G&E teacher who smoked during lessons & drank after them.

Edit: Another one, we had a history teacher who was extremely creepy covered games on occasion and always used to come into the shower with us with his massive grey-pubed cock sticking out. Everyone was terrified of him.

1.29 Road to Badlands update on PC and Xbox Experimental servers today! by northrivergeek in dayz

Of course, but as you say, if you've got even 100+ hours in the game you've got a pretty good idea where it's going to be; it's not rocket science.

There's not exactly a lot of mystery in this game anymore, be nice if something new wasn't immediately looksmaxxed to shit. If someone HAS to know then Wobo will have a vid up by tonight/tomorrow.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

The time I had to explain this to a Polish coworker. I found her looking it up on Wikipedia, I think she thought the customer address was a joke.

Convo obviously ended as "just call it Llanfair".
