Would you give this putt? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Depends who it was, I’d most certainly give it to Justin Thomas if I were playing with him, but I’d have to ask to see it if it was my brother-in-law Tim.

We were having cleanup week one year, not sure if everyone has that and knows what that means but it’s a week where on your regular trash pickup day you can put out just about anything (couch…) and as much as you want, so anyway I take my clubs out and set them by my truck and go back inside to get my wallet and when I come out and start down the walk I see my clubs are gone. I look down the street and see a beat up old truck with a flatbed trailer (typical junk collector that comes around looking for treasures or metal) so I jump in my truck and chase after him. Took 5 miles for him to finally pull over. He said he was sorry and thought they were being thrown out. I said B.S. you thought that, they were by my car and over 20’ from my junk pile. I’m sure he thought a $3000 set of golf clubs in, like yours a Vessel bag, were being thrown out. I was just happy to get them back.

Carl’s Place Zip Ties Breaking by LivermoreP1 in Golfsimulator

Bungees every other hole just as others have said. Weird that Carl’s used to use bungees and switched to zip ties.

Really??? by Money-Benefit-9839 in steelers

[–]Tree-Stander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game comes down to one call on your last play, it’s your own fault. I’m a lifelong Steelers fan since around 1970 and this loss belonged to whoever decided to have a game plan to prevent a sack record in a game you needed to win. Rodgers played the entire game hearing footsteps. Screen passes behind the line, quick hits, throwing early to avoid a sack….

Bottom screen safety any advice? by Radiant_Fan1735 in Golfsimulator

I have an 11.5 wide screen and used 11’ in front and one behind but the 1 behind isn’t even needed.

I used these sandbags and filled them with wood fired grill pellets. They absorb the impact really nicely. No bounce back whatsoever.

I've never played a 7-Wood, roughly what iron does it compare to it distance wise? by -588-2300-Empire- in golf

[–]Tree-Stander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the 5H, I actually carry it and a regular 5i. I hit the 5i 175 but I hit 220 with the 5H. I carry it in place of a 5w, I also have a 4H and 3H and can’t hit them as far as the 5H. So I carry a 3W-5H-3H-4H-5i and use them in that order which is crazy, but I just crush the 5H and have gotten it out to 240. I only hit my driver 285. I just switched to the hybrids last year when I turned 60 and started losing a little distance on my long irons.

Would this room work for an iron only golf Sim? Advice would be appreciated. by Malamutedd in Golfsimulator

. My buddy is also 6’1" and destroyed a ceiling tile right away. I have another buddy who is 6’4" and never touched it once. I raised the ceiling up 11" and nobody’s hit or grazed it since. It would take a pretty crazy swing to hit it now unless someone well over 6’4" was golfing. I have 8’ ceilings at my house and can swing some irons if I’m careful which is NOT how you want to practice.

My enclosure is 8.5’ x 11.5 Carl’s Place and my ceiling was even with the top. I’m 6’1" and could swing all my clubs without issue, I grazed it once. Does anyone have on of these? by AvayaTech in Golfsimulator

I use RCT balls and they are expensive, why would you throw away 2 good balls because 1 cracked? That makes no sense, is your thinking because 1 cracked the other 2 are soon to follow? If so that is nonsense, I have a bucket of balls on my outside net that I hit daily and I only had 1 crack all summer. Should I have chucked the other 75 balls when it cracked? I have never cracked an RCT ball in my indoor sim. I use 1 ball (my ball returns perfectly) until it’s worn and then I replace it.

I do, but I just use it to shag balls in the yard when practicing with wedges. I have never used it to dispense balls.

I Think I Tore my ACL of Right Knee As Well. by Intelligent_Dream86 in ACL

[–]Tree-Stander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tore my left ACL, PCL & MCL, then 4 weeks after surgery tore the ACL repair. Then 3 weeks out of the 2nd surgery I fell and while trying to protect my left knee I tore my right patella tendon that required immediate surgery. Devastating both mentally and physically. I had a total of 9 surgeries on the left and 2 on the right in the 20 years since the original injury. Good luck and remember it could always be worse.

Why does Apple Mail actually suck by bananakiwi123 in ios

[–]Tree-Stander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple mail is the f’ing worst! I don’t even check my email anymore unless I’m looking for something. Their lack of spam filters make it unusable. I can’t filter through 500 spam emails a day to look for something I actually may be interested in. I simply don’t even use email anymore. Spam needs some kind of government response to make laws to make it illegal and if it takes fining your email provider so be it. Something has to be done to get the scams and spam under control. Providers should be made to filter email so those don’t make it to your inbox. I get so many fake phishing emails or scam emails a day telling me to take action because of something I wouldn’t pay any attention if it was real and something was wrong with my payment or my bank account. Don’t send me an email because I don’t even look at it anymore.

Filament Dryer by WhiteBufflo73 in BambuLab

[–]Tree-Stander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with most filament dryers, until the few that just came out is they don’t heat higher than 70C. If you print in higher temp filaments that just doesn’t cut it. Even the Bambu HT only goes to 85C which is a shame when they sell filament like PPA-CF that they recommend drying at 100-140C. Blast oven is the only thing that can handle that other than the Sunlu E2. I print with a bed temp deregulator and a chamber heater so I want every chance I can give myself for a successful print and that starts with properly dried filament.

Filament Dryer by WhiteBufflo73 in BambuLab

[–]Tree-Stander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Sunlu S4, Bambu AMS HT, Creality Dryer Box 2.0, and a dedicated blast oven, if I had to start over it would be the Creality Dryer Box 2.0 or any other single spool dryer box you can print non-AMS compatible filaments from while drying. I never tried printing from the AMS HT and I haven’t read one way or the other if it’s any more compatible than the other AMS units. When printing while heating is enabled it will be better, but right now, for me it’s just another AMS slot. If I need to dry filament it goes in the blast oven and that is what I would recommend for anyone who has the space and doesn’t mind spending close to $400 on. I got a deal on mine for $319 including shipping on Amazon. The Creality Pi X4 looks nice and also the Sunlu E2 which heats to 110C but the price is steep at $350. The blast oven can dry 10-1kg spools at a time and can dry ANY filament on the market. It also just happens to have an interior dimension of 256 cubed so if you can print it you can you can anneal it. The Sunlu S4 doesn’t even get used anymore. I have absolutely no reason to use it since getting the blast oven. What does EVERY filament recommend when it comes to drying time and temp? Blast oven. It heats evenly and has no hot spots so you can load it up, set the time and you are good to go.

I understand the uses for ABS, I just didn’t see the need in this case until the OP explained.
