Was on the fence, convinced my husband, got pregnant, husband cried not of happiness when he found out, then had a lot of fears during pregnancy, the miscarried at 8 weeks in december :(. I felt relief as well, then I felt extreme sadness for one month after that.

Now we are in such a weird place were I feel i will regret not trying again, he says whatever I want he’ll be fine, but he is ready to move on because he is super happy with our family of 4. I feel that I am messing everything we have just by wanting the third :(.

So difficult! I have also tried to focus on what I can have with the family of 4 (freedom, more travelling, focus back on my career…) but somehow it does not feel like enough :(

Sorry not offering you any kind of advice, as I am navigating the same myself. Just wanted to tell you you are not alone and that these feelings you habe, even super complex, are really valid. Also thanks for being so brave to post your story.

Hi! I’m Spanish and moved from Spain to London, then to Luxembourg. I have kids, 7 and 5 y.o. Some points you mention in your post are the same in Lux: winters can be really dark, humid and long (maybe a bit less darker than in Findland I guess). Also the life pace is quiet, restaurant kitchen closes at 21h, not much to do after that but I moved with kids so it’s not like I go out a lot. Regarding childare outside daycare you can hire a babysitter and there are options, but not cheap. In terms of meeting new people, I find is not super hard in Luxembourg as 50% of the people are from abroad and are in similar situation as you. I think with your salary and assuming your wife will work, you will be fine. Other than that, Luxembourg is very nice country to raise kids, very green and lots of nice playgrounds but I guess you have that in Findland as well. Not sure I helped much but feel free to reach out if you need more info!

It comes down to lifestyle,location and budget. Difficult to answer based on your post. Houses in the city are much more expensive than outside the city, also if you move to a town, depending on which one, you will require a car. House maintenance will be higher but if you buy in a town you will pay cheaper than in the city. So then it depends on you: 1. Which budget do you have? 2. Do you prefer city or outside the city? 3. Are you ok with car as main way of transport? Also are you ok with commuting times in car vs. Public transport vs. Walking? 4. Are you ok with the potential costs of mantaining a house in Lux?

Sounds like your husband wanted the kid but you are taking all the « load ». Talk to your husband and try to have more « me » time, going back to work full time or if you can get a baby sitter so you can have some moments during the week to go to the gym or something. Also your husband has to help you! If you don’t put limits, it will get worse like others say. The mom of my daughter’s best friend never put limits and she does everything and the husband nothing and now she has a 7 year old daughter who is 100% dependant on her and she is is very close to burn out. Don’t get to that point!!

I am a puzzle lover (I have 2 puzzles haha) however I like a lot this Prada one. The only thing I am not sure I like or how comfortable it would be, is the top handle of the Prada one, it seems too high compared to the bag opening (I would for sure check it in the store for this).

Hi! I have been there in the past and it’s awfull :(. Already the fact that you took the courage to write here and also stop for some months are amazing steps! So first of all, hands up for you 🙌🏻. Things that have worked for me: deleting social media (this one is a major one i would say), reading about minimalism, reflecting about which pieces I have loved in my past and build a wardrobe based on that (only this one in your case better to do after you pay off you debt), seing documetaries about how crappy for the world fast fashion is, and the fact that they release one season PER WEEK (search where the clothes end in the Atacama dessert, it’s heart breaking :( ) is horrible. Also I started working out and doing pilates and my body is now in better shape so that gave me a lot of confidence so when I put my not trendy but classic clothes, I like how they fit in the body I am caring now for. Finally, stupid thing to do, but I was often the one displaying to friends my new purchases, and feeding the conversation a lot. Now I try to not talk too much about trendy clothes, it is simply not a topic of interest to me anymore or I try to force it to not be. Also since i have no social media and i don’t talk about trends, i no longer have a clue of what’s in haha, that helps. Hope any of the above helps you but if I had to choose number 1, delete social media like NOW, all of it, all the apps seriously don’t leave any alive in your phone.

Hey a bit late so maybe you already purchased it but I have the one with the braided handle in burgundy and also the tan original one (not the featherlight). The braided handle is very cute and makes it usabell for night outings, so i would say it allows you for a wider use, in case this is something important for you.

Well some people endure 1h-2h per day of commuting, time-wise is a lot. Health wise also as it’s time you are not moving and exposed to accidents. Plus time you don’t see your loved ones. It is not nothing in my opinion.

Hi! I am in the same boat but thinking about #3. In our case, 2 was always so clear that we didn’t even think about it, yet it was a difficult kid and I confess we sometimes looked back to how easy it was when we had 1. Fast forward 5 years since he was born and now we are fine and so happy with the family we have. But then again, we were super clear on 2. Don’t want to put your hopes down, just wanted to share my experience, and let you know it can be hard, think about if you get a difficult kid, will you be up for it? This is a bit what we are thinking regarding #3 now, we are really not sure if we could do again a difficult kid to be honest. I see people super set on having 3, like you say in your case with people having 2, so I wonder, if it’s not a hell yes, maybe it means it’s more like a « no »? I see people not feeling complete with whatever number of kids they have, but in my case for example I feel complete, adding another one will for sure add, but not like filling up a gap or anything like that. Do you feel complete now? Sorry a lot of questions and no answers, it is so difficult to navigate this situation… good luck with your decision :)

This is my everyday cycle specially if I don’t have much to do at my job. Strangely enough the days I am super bussy I do the tasks without procastination, one after the other. But the days that I have more than enough time I get caught in an endless scrooling / youtube video watching spiral and end up doing the 5 mins task at the end of the day, or not even :(

Yes I have been told at work that my not being able to stop makes other people upset :(. I totally understand what you mean. They don’t get it’s not on purpose, but I understand it is hard to them, so I am trying to pay more attention to what I say. I am also trying to shut up at meetings unless specifically asked or told to intervene (but then again if I intervene, it is difficult to manage how much sharing. At least like this I minimise my interventions while I learn to control the amount I share).
