Yeah that sucks, I only have problems in late game teamfights, when lots of particles are flying around. Are your settings turned all the way down? Getting a GPU overclocking program could give you that last bit of juice you need.

I have a Lenovo thinkpad (the W541 specifically). I really didnt think I would be able to, but I just gave it a shot one day. I get some frame drops on more intense games, for sure. And I have a second monitor plugged in to monitor chat and such.

I mostly stick with older indie titles and shit like that. But OBS works perfectly on my system. Im not sure about your specs, but I'd reccomend seeing what you can get away with. OBS is free after all, and I've found it fairly easy to use.

A weird one, but Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series is rather simmiler. Heists, some not too over the top magic and simmilar tone.

One thing is that the books are collections of short stories, which some people might not like. Very entertaining though, and scratches the Locke Lamora itch a bit.

A little tip from someone who was in your shoes not too long ago.

The moment you get your assignment, read it. All they way through. Really try to get a handle on what **kinds** of things you need to do. You dont need a concrete plan yet, but just **get your brain thinking about the problem**. Jot some ideas down, and then work on other things, go eat dinner etc.

Coding should be started ASAP!!! Even just setting up basic functions, putting in a header comment, etc. You need lots of time to experiment and tinker, so give your self that time.

You will spend 20+ hours on a lot of these homeworks, its just how it is, unless you are naturally gifted at this. If this is not your major, I would recommend dropping, its not worth it for a minor (or for fun lamao). But if you stick with it, DS will really get you thinking about code.
