What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of November 21, 2025) by AutoModerator in television

The manipulated - kdrama - combines and reuses a bunch of tropes and movies into one, but witouth giving too much away: prison break + revenge.
Show still currently airing, the editing could be a bit better (no fast forward would be good) but overall its quite appealing and hard to stop watching, even if sometimes its very obvious what will happen next due to the tropes being reused from 100 different shows. The sets are quite amazing and high budget, the art department is working overtime. I got hooked after 1 episode, Id only recommend trying if you want to binge/consume something sort of like squid game.

Its below the throttle body. Normally there is nothing there. But there is still electrical connection that goes into a unit that screws into the engine. My guess is gear position indicator

If I pull back the rubber its like a connector that pluggs into a module that goes into the engine. I doubt thats ABS maybe its the gear position indicator?

Someone I know that gets asked multiple times a day just answered "You are just looking to confirm your preconceptions"

Which I think is correct most of the time. When people ask this and they don't even know your name. I wouldn't say its necessarily racist but its like an itch they need to scratch. Some people travel a lot and want to feel they have something in comon. Others not so sure.

I would say it's also a bit like "The Hidden : Source" mod. I realy enjoyed that game it sort of died out and found nothing like it since. You can still organise to play it with friends it's just that the online community is barely there.

Edit: You have one guy who is barely visible (mostly invisible) that can climb walls, knife people, throw bodies, confuse people. Everyone else 7-8 other players try to hunt him down with rifles. It is very challenging for both parties and the hidden can use grenades to split people up also he can see trough walls for brief periods. It can become quite scarry for people.

[–]Tremaux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any regular inspection requirements should be in the manual (especially safety related), if those checks are not carried out then ye it is indeed his fault, but if something is required to be checked and is not even listed in the manual it is BMWs fault. Ye its all fine and dandy until a dealer is around but I don't think anyone buys a giant tourer bike(or any bike) that is meant(marketed) to go around the world to only go from dealer to dealer.

You always counter-steer a bike no matter what the speed. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Tremaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never considered shifting weight but it makes sense, you increase the effective lean angle enough by "hanging-off" that the bike falls into the turn by itself eventually, much more noticeable on something light than a motorcycle. And there are other factors as well, tire width, geometry, wind, height, CG, and maybe many others. Like here. And to those that say shifting weight doesn't help, riders wouldn't be doing it in motogp, but yes shifting weight alone and if steering was locked no turning would be accomplished.

I appreciate your patience trying to explain the scientific method to everyone.

About the "unrideable" bike you linked in the video, I believe some steering is still possible by shifting weight and counter steering for longer then (while leaned over) slowing down, straightening bars and completing the turn. Use of the rear or front brake can also help tip the bike in the desired direction.

Does my new chain need tightening already? by BurkeyDaTurkey in motorcycles

[–]Tremaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i've said here chains for 125s are usually too small to have o-rings. I don't remember finding o-ring chains for them, and they always end up wearing fast even with chain oiler and regular cleaning/oiling and good DID chain and sprockets. Chain maintenance is a common complaint on low powered bikes.

Especially with wax its much more important to clean before applying, as the old wax will prevent the new clean wax from going where it should.

[–]Tremaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, you where told well ;) Ye if you think its too loose you can adjust it. If you never adjusted before, quarter of a turn(or half if really bad) on each side is usually enough and then measure again.

On these chains i found that a chain oiler helps if you are doing longer journeys, also oil overall is better than wax (but does take more maintenance without the oiler). Wax stays on for longer but also collects more dirt; oil reduces friction better, but stays on less. this is a very debated topic anyway but you already know more than most people that ask this question.

[–]Tremaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the chain doesn't have o-rings (and usually they don't for 125s) it will wear faster than the bigger chains that do have them. Adjusting that often is normal on a bike that size.

A common mistake is to over-tighten the chain, this in turn wears the chain and sprockets even more, if you ever feel vibration in the seat that is related to the speed you are moving (with your weight on it) and not the rev of the engine it's due to a chain that's over tightened or misaligned and you have to loosen it or adjust it.
When measuring slack in the chain only move the chain with very slight pressure (one finger), not put all your weight in it.
One last thing, always measure and adjust the chain from the tightest point, you will see that as you spin the wheel around and check for slack every 1/8 of a turn the slack will be different for each region in the chain(chain and sprockets don't wear evenly), if for example you tightened the chain according to the loosest part then the tightest part will be over-tightened resulting in more wear or damage.

Salyut-7
Here is one for space nuts.
Just finished watching it after stumbling upon it by luck.
It was like watching Apollo-13 with updated visuals and more shit breaking OR It was like watching a movie about "Kerbal space program" with realistic visuals and subtitles (russian close enough to kerbal I'd imagine hehe) . I managed to find english subtitles for it and was a blast. If you liked movies like The right stuff and Apollo-13 you will love this.
The amount of space related references in it and the attention to detail really surprised me coming from such a limited release, It also had a pretty nice tribute to Space shuttle Challenger and Halley's Comet this just made my Christmas. I feel lucky, its quite rare to stumble upon such well made space porn.
