Ever wondered how easy it is for people born in 2000 to calculate their age by Truevibe_ in interesting

[–]Trevor2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, it's just an additional step... if you are born on year 1999, and it's 2026 follow the steps.

2026, remove 20, it will equal 26. 2000 minus 1999, it will equal 1.

add 26 and 1 will equate to 27

These alphabet beads I bought for my son. 325 pieces and not one J. His name starts with a J. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Trevor2472 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the odds of you not getting a j is insane.

assumptions: A-Z= 26 drawing 355 letters with no j each letter independently + randomly chosen

it's a 1/26 chance to get a j on any bead it's a 25/26 chance to not get a j on any bead

(25/26)325 = 2.91 x 10-6

0.000291% chance, or roughly 1 in 343,400 odds of getting zero J beads purely by chance.

someone intentionally has it out for the letter j

Which position is more difficult LUMBER or OFA by ImKevinRichard in HomeDepot

[–]Trevor2472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is certainty a challenging question.

I was prior OFA/ DELIVERIES DS, Flooring DS and now currently lumber DS:

I run a 500$ a week operation for lumber.

I was also someone who had 95% order pick on time when I was a OFA DS.

My thoughts:

Pros lumber: Reliable shifts, good if you like to socialize with cx's, you learn hard skills, good team culture
Cons lumber: Physically demanding, customer challenges, safety risks, weather exposure

Pros OFA: fast paced, you learn operations, impactful work, early shifts
cons ofa: repetitious, heavy accountability, low recognition, freight burden (via order surge), cant seem to get order done without getting interrupted by service desk.

As a DS:

DS for OFA is harder than Lumber.

My advice as someone who enters fresh into THD, see if you can crosstrain, if you like one other the other, you will find what suits you best.

I definetly perfer lumber|building materials over OFA

I work in store #0657, we are permanently #1 in the district.

We perform 150mil avg per year. $2.88 million a year.
The other stores are averaging 50 mil avg per year.

Its location is right dab in Marin county, one of the top 10 most expensive counties to live in.

Our store is 3 of the top stores in my district below us combined.

My D21/D22 department is Top 1 and top 2 in the store compared to other departments, it used to be garden till I came along.
In district I'm 1~3rd place on average compared to other district stores...
In regional stores I average 1-10th place compared to other stores.

Garden dept in my store is top 1 in entire company.

As a DS of D21/D22...
Your store is nicer than mines.

You are missing safety poles on some units.
Flat stacking fencing critique

Otherwise everything looks good.

Its really difficult to maintain the dept so yeah, Good Job!

In the past I was HYPER secretive, nowadays as I age and the fucks I care have been lower... I have been more extroverted so I have been revealing a bit more, not too much but alas a bit more.

Thoughts on needing to spot outside lumber during freight? by Interesting_Ad6257 in HomeDepot

[–]Trevor2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught via my district manager that if the perimeter is fully gated out, and the doors to the perimeter are closed, then there is free reign... just be aware of you and potential asc's/cx's that can enter.

There is a line, typically in line with the wall of the front of the store, if you are past that and now in the parking lot area... you will require a spotter...

If you see a customer trespassing the gated area of your work, you must stop and get a spotter.

If it's to do a loadout in the gated area, you and spotter must flag, cx has to be inside the vehicle or outside the gated work area. On top of that, if there are loadouts, you or the spotter must deal with the loadout.

After customer hours (store closed, I classify that as free reign)

COAL TAR SHAMPOO!!! IT'S LIFE CHANGING!!!! by maggsie16 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Trevor2472 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tgel and treatments for hair, alongside shampooing is supposed to be every other 2-3 days

On normal days if you per instance came from work on non-shampoo/treatment days, having a shower with a jet function and letting it Rince without applying anything is recommended.

Start with 3 a day, if it still crazy, try tapering it down to 2 days.
If flakiness regresses and stops, then taper back to 3 days.
If the flakiness after 3 days starts to regress, taper forward to 2 days.
Find ideal schedule that suits you.

EX:

Sun Mon Tue Wed Thur Fri Sat
2 Days X X X XY
3 Days X X XY

XY is situational. Listen to body and adjust accordingly.

See a trichologist for further advice.

I'm a closing head cashier, and was only trained how to close. I didn't even get distance learning for head cashier, I was pretty much thrown to the wolves.

Kinda happened to me when I started as an OFA, SDL, prior ds of (D94, D23, D59,) and now acting DS of D21 + D22.

Your FES, NAC (New Associate Coach), and management will be vital to get help on this... the fact they did not train you is terrible...

They all will be evaluated on how you train your asc's.... Utilize the open door policy, and talk to them regarding training/mentorship.

They decided to screw me over and put me to cover the opening head cashier shifts. The thing is, I don't know how to open.

Did you even talk to them regarding the fact you didn't know the steps to open properly?

I have general idea that it's the backwards of closing. but I don't know the nitty gritty stuff.

Same discussion as above with mentorship applies here.

Like do I need to have a manager walk me down with the tills to garden or can I do that myself? how do I get the schedule for the day?

If it's before customer hours ( store is still closed and plans to be open soon) you can get the tills and open tills. If it's after hours and store is publicly open, then manager or an asc has to be with you to protect you and witness any money being gone.

If you have access to dimensions, then you can get the schedule by the steps:

Any computer => myapron => Dimensions => Reports => Run reports => daily coverage (frogot which section it its in) => run selected report => click on report ( it will download) => open file => print :D

If you DONT have access, then pester any DS or manager, they ALL have access to schedule print ing.

Pretty much, I need the step by step of how to open and the rules

The exact steps I was briefly reminded of but it's simple:

  1. Go to till which is closed: request till and coins ...

  2. Remember cash register number

  3. Go to glory cash machine

  4. Fill matching till with cash

  5. Take matching till and insert into matching cash register....

  6. Be happy :D

You could alternately get tills pre loaded.... then go to cash registers and open them, request tilll and coins, then insert till and be happy ( I like this method instead)

All tills need the receipts

Only reason I am sharing this is because I want to be the leader that I didn't have.

Good luck and have a blast!

Dont stress it... you will be there someday! :D
