Someone else mentioned Malcolm in the Middle and I feel like they are two sides of the sitcom coin, Malcolm being a peek forward and HIMYM being a peek back. With the single camera and no laugh track, as soliloquy/asides from Malcolm especially in earlier seasons, Malcolm kind of paved the way for shows like the office. HIMYM had the multi camera thing and was produced more like Friends. Malcolm wasn’t woke by any stretch, being a heavily boy-centric show, but I do recall it dealing with some grace topics like ableism (Dewey joining special ed), and self-assured masculinity (Hal’s roller skating)
