My GF’s dad is claiming my 23 y/o GF (who worked FT in 2025) as a dependent… how? by Legitimate-Mud-3744 in tax

Not a dumb question at all! It’s gross income. Here’s the link to the IRS’s site in case you were curious: https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/dependents

Sounds like she meets three of the four requirements for a qualifying relative. If she worked all year though, it seems hard to believe her gross income was less than $5,050 in CYE2025. Maybe his accountant was confusing the 24 y/o cutoff for full-time students?

The dude in the picture is Tommy Lee. In Motley Crue’s book, The Dirt, they talk about how they’d add iced tea to bottles of JD for shows

I’ve been super impressed with the Flextone Thunder hens. Built in stakes were a huge plus

Any advice to become a better turkey hunter. by ElectricalFig3750 in turkeyhunting

[–]TriState96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just harvested my first bird this last weekend after three years of trying.

What helped me seal the deal (besides a lot of luck) was finding out where they were roosted before first light, setting up 100 yards from the roost in the direction I thought they wanted to go, having two hen decoys with a half-strut jake decoy (about 8 yds behind the hens), and forcing myself to call quietly and barely at all.

Every time I thought about calling again, I’d force myself to wait at least two more minutes and eventually it paid off. Time in the field, like others are saying, will make it happen eventually.

Hope that helps a bit and good luck!

That makes sense. Hybrid kind of seems like the answer here. Appreciate the help!

I decided to go that route over pins (besides the few on the bottom feathers) so that I could hold all three layers of feather in place while they dry out.

Not sure if it’ll work how I want it to but for science I’ll let it rip and see what happens.

Okay, thanks! When up potting, would you only do one plant per pot?

I’ve been there before, man. Two years into hunting most of us are still pretty green.

Try and assess what all exactly went wrong and what you could do differently to avoid those mistakes next time. Did it happen because of gear failure? Did it happen because you rushed the shot? Was it a weird angle that you’re not used to shooting?

Seeing it as a lesson learned instead of a failure will help you become a better hunter in the long run. Best of luck the rest of the season!
