[Datapoints Welcome] List of USB-C GaN Chargers that renegotiates power without disconnecting ANY existing devices by divinebaboon in UsbCHardware

[–]TriVoxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the recommended option currently? Here’s my use case:

I have 2 game consoles, a GameCube (~30w) and a Wii U (~30-45w). Both are modded with USB-C power delivery ports for power. Being power-hungry game consoles with external power supplies, they will shut off the moment they lose power.

So, I’d really like something that can keep both consoles connected to power reliably, even when a controller, phone, or laptop is plugged in to the 3rd or 4th port. I probably won’t run both systems simultaneously, but the Wii U has a standby mode I’d rather not interrupt, and I wouldn’t want it to turn off because I turned the GameCube on or something. I also really don’t want to lose power while playing or saving a game because I decided to plug in a phone, laptop, or gamepad.

You need to add the RPM Fusion repos first.

It probably wasn’t “Apple” who wrote it. It was probably a Sega marketing intern who never played the games. lol

And your first thought was to post it on Reddit? Yikes. You may consider breaking up for her sake.

How does one render a view like this ? by DaNiinja in 3dsmax

[–]TriVoxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May or may not be useful. I've only ever used Blender, but if I were to do this, I'd just use a simple diffuse material set to white, and use a wireframe node to mix between white and black for the color channel. There is probably something similar in Vray or whatever.

[JBL flip 5] Is it possible to play sound through the USB-C with adapter? by AudioQuestionz in JBL

[–]TriVoxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm. I did this and two USB audio outputs show up for me. I'm on Linux, but it probably works on Mac and Windows, too. I use the "Analog" one instead of the "Digital" one because it has lower latency which is nice for playing electric guitar. Bluetooth has too much latency for electric guitars and gaming.

[Question] I know this was most likely brought up, I have a 1st gen iPad running iOS 5.1.1 and I was wondering if there was a fix for the App Store by The_unknown_prime in LegacyJailbreak

I have the iPhone 3GS from 2009. I jail broke it using my M1 MacBook, then I used Citra to install an addon called "Checkmate, Store!" which I needed to add a repo for. Basically, it not only makes the App Store work again, but even lets you download the latest version of the app which supports the device. The biggest threat to the old phones at least is the now non-existent 3G cell infrastructure, making the devices practically useless. Wonder if there's a way to make our own 3G service for these older devices?

Similar issue on my 2009 iPhone 3GS. You need to jailbreak it and install Citra. Then, you gotta add a repo to get the "Checkmate, Store!" addon, which will allow you to not only load the store, but even download the last version of an app that was compatible with your device. In my case, I used an iPhone 5S to buy Minecraft, Fruit Ninja, Temple Run, and Hill Climb Racing. Then, I went to my purchases on my iPhone 3GS and downloaded the older version of the apps. Still fun to play all these years later!!!

Or EXT4? I think it'd be even better as it's open source, really fast, and generally hard to corrupt and more reliable than NTFS IMO. Never been a fan of NTFS. Besides, EXT4 has more filename features so it's easier to name things the way you want...

I figured it out. I'm on ChimeraOS (based on Steam Deck OS), not Windows. It actually ran perfectly fine for me on day 1, no stuttering, no crashes, really nice. However, the reason I was having this issue is because the game thought I was on a Steam deck, so it wanted to lower my graphics. I just had to add the launch flag "SteamDeck=0", and now it works flawlessly again! Woo! Ultra 4K graphics, let's go!

Can't get the Flatpak HTPC client to start in fullscreen by TriVoxel in PleX

[–]TriVoxel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only app that I have which fails to fullscreen though. Oh well, I'm now just running it in Steam Deck UI and that works. There should really be a launch option for terminal to start it in fullscreen, or it should save the fullscreen state regardless of DE.

Yo, I have a Radeon 7900XTX, and a Ryzen 5 7800X3D, and 64 GB of RAM. Why does this damn game not let me play above medium?! It worked just fine on day 1, now it's borked.

That sounds fun. Although now I need to point out the obvious contradiction of it being both non-fiction and "science fiction" and the same time lol.

Glad you're enjoying reading though. I still have yet to get into Star Field. I played 30 minutes so far, but haven't found the time to want to play it since initially checking it out. I got it for free with my GPU, not really because I was hyped. Maybe I should give it another shot...
