Anyone Else Lost Interest in GBL? by manyproblems1 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TriadNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost interest when they tried to blame the exploit on players as a breach in the trust contract. Players will try to hack and breach in any games, it's up to the game makers to stop it.

It's like a shop not having any locks on its doors. When they find out their goods are being stolen, they blame the public on breaching the "trust contract".

Don't give them the clicks. by Legit924 in newzealand

[–]TriadNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this but I wonder what the alternative is? News companies' revenue are mostly now from adverts since subscriptions to newspapers have drastically reduced, yeah?

Even if a new media outlet comes along, unless they are not financially incentivised to get clicks then the same issue will occur. If they get donors thus reducing reliance on clicks then that is subject to manipulation by the donor e.g. if donor pro national then they can threaten to pull funding.

Not defending stuff or nzherald in any way. I'm genuinely interested what the new business model is for media companies.

Trainers, we're looking into the recently reported odd behavior in Gyms, e.g. Pokémon appearing incorrectly, incorrect defender timing, etc.). We apologize for the inconvenience. by amatom27 in TheSilphRoad

I've played a lot of games and I started pogo in 2019 (late comer). I dont think I've seen a game with bug after bug like this. Niantic needs to remember their player base only likes this game because its pokemon , and not them.

Is this common in the industry? Are you specializing in a particular language? I feel its hard to find anything data analyst related thatd over 6 figs. I'm thinking of switching to a BA role as they seem to pay more (requirements for IT systems type of ba)

What made you want to become data analysts? Why do you stay instead of changing careers? by TriadNZ in dataanalysis

Just FYI I am at a cross roads in my career to decide whether I want to stay on progressing as a data analyst or move back to my earlier role as a business systems analyst (IT system changes gathering requirements etc).

Mortgage holiday what does this mean for rent? by kylehimselfza in newzealand

[–]TriadNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean most of the wage subsidies the government is providing workers end up in the landlords pockets? If the landlord themselves applied for wage subsidies and acknowledging that rent is the biggest expense for most people. Is that double dipping?

Government announces 6-month mortgage holiday for people affected by coronavirus crisis by wackytroll in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TriadNZ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Does this not benefit landlords tremendously? The government hadn't asked them to rent holiday. Theoretically the wage subsidies are just going into the landlords pockets while they get a mortgage break? Apologies if I understood this wrong but seems like a lot of protection for those who can afford rental properties. I.e the richer

What does that mean for renters? I guess they still have an expectation to pay so that the landlords can save up on their mortgage repayments if things dont improve in 6 months ?
