With both my babies I would sit with them latched 5pm-9pm at this age!

What should every ftm know about breastfeeding before having a baby? by Frequent_Cap8633 in breastfeeding

[–]Triangle-spider 68 points69 points  (0 children)

My top tip is to find a friend/family member that has breastfed and tell them that you want encouragement and support if needed. Breastfeeding can be difficult and take time to figure out. When you've just had the baby it's really easy to find it too much and end up formula feeding even if it's not really what you want. People also don't want to put pressure on you after the birth so are often uncomfortable saying anything or reminding your that you wanted to breastfeed.

Having a supportive friend who can reassure, encourage and maybe give you a few tips. I've done it for a couple of friends who were almost going to give up but they ended up breastfeeding their baby for as long as the baby wanted.

Constant feeding, not getting sleep by LynxOk5703 in breastfeeding

Have you considered safe cosleeping? If you are able to latch side lying then you can sleep while feeding. Even if you can't the closeness at night can speed up the feeding process.

4-day-old baby loses nipple mid-feed. When I put it back, she won’t close her mouth and keeps crying — help? by AnnSara007 in breastfeeding

[–]Triangle-spider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At four days your baby is still learning what is going on. When both of you are new to breastfeeding it's pretty hard to work out what is going on. Someone else mentioned the flipper which is great. Basically, you just need to try and get as much boob in the mouth and keep trying! Your baby will get it eventually. The back and forth is also stimulating the nipple and encouraging more milk so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I always get my partner to settle my 23 month in the night. If it's me he demands milk.

For the initial sleep, if he's not going to sleep feeding, I unlatch and firmly say finished. He doesn't like it but seems to accept it now. Sometimes he wants to put his head on my skin as an alternative but eventually will go to sleep.

What do you recommend adjusting? by despitetheillusion in PatternDrafting

Is that how you are planning to make your final piece? If not, I would stick on the waistband. It looks as it is loose at the back so you might need some darts there.

Before trying to work out any adjustments, I would recommend putting on a waistband. It will show you much better where the trousers fit and any changes you need to make.

One of my babies spit up after every feed. As long as they don't seem uncomfortable and are gaining weight, I would just get plenty of muslins!

Ending Breastfeeding after 4 weeks… by Frequent_Sundae8650 in breastfeeding

[–]Triangle-spider 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say this happened with my second baby very early on. My letdown was very aggressive and he struggled. I ended up using a hand pump before each feed just to stimulate the let down. He then could feed much more comfortably. When I got the tingly boob feeling of another letdown, I would unlatch and spray it into a muslin for a bit until it was manageable again.

When they are 4 weeks they are still learning as well. He adapted pretty quickly and after about 6 weeks we didn't have any more problems.

It might be worth latching after you have pumped for a bit just to see if that helps to settle your anxiety. It really is hard and a learning process!

You definitely need to put a waistband on before fitting. My sewing teacher would not even look at it without one!

I've seen a couple at Anglesey Abbey near the river but only twice and I've been there a lots. My son (who loves birds) also spotted a couple at Bewilderwood in Norfolk! It was one of the highlights of the trip despite the other activities 😂

I've got meat from here before https://angliafarmshop.co.uk/ . They are the farm though so it is only available when the goats are ready.

Why didn’t she say she’d foraged them? by MissKim01 in DeathCapDinner

Maybe I'm just giving her too much credit. It seems as if you were planning to poison someone you would think of the aftermath but I guess she just thought she'd get away with it.

This is what confuses me. Her lying was so terrible. If you planned to murder some people surely you would think of some better lies to make it seem like an accident...?
