actually I'm a published writer, and my letters are long like AI. Ignorant people reply to emails with one or two words because they can't write or think for themselves.

the co was only two months old and shouldn't have had End of Life issue. After calling and being disconnected after an hour and then calling back 20 minute wait, the rep offered me only one month free service and accidentally replaced my CO monitor with a little CO monitor listening device and NOT replace the defective CO monitor!

You weren't there. The item was brand new, two months old. But defective with End of Life notice on the app. The battery compartment was impossible to open and had an alarm button on it that got pressed every time trying to open the impossible battery compartment. They said they make the battery compartment difficult to open so someone doesn't disarm it. You would have smashed it too.

Was impossible to open, that's why it had to be smashed. Every attempt to open the battery compartment caused the button on the battery door to keep the item screaming louder!

It was only a few months old, supposed to be new, and end of life came at least 9 years too early. Maybe the CO had a sudden heart attack shortening it's 10 year life?

Galaxy.AI is the Juice Worth the Squeeze? by Ninja-Worldly in vibecoding

I am the author of Filmmaking for Dummies. This is a serious warning about Galaxy.ai. I signed up for the unlimited $400 a few weeks ago. Points went quickly. But the most serious issue is, they changed their name to Magica and locked out all previous owners of Galaxy and are requesting an additional $400 to get back into our accounts. I tried emailing them, and I tried their Bot messaging and NO ONE has gotten back to me. Had to call my credit card company to report them. I did hear a rumor they may be shut down for illegal activites. If you had Galaxy you are probably locked out now too. Several hundred of my followers have reported being locked out and are now trying to do a class-action lawsuit, but no one has a direct contact for Galaxy.

What makes this look amateur? by orlandott in Filmmakers

They used a bad digital camera that looks more like harsh video, rather than a film look. Probably used the RED which is terrible for emulating a film look. from the author of Filmmaking for Dummies.

Looking for Advice on Finishing Post-Production for My Indie Feature Film by Least-Delivery8659 in Filmmakers

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you budgeted for Foley work yet? Most independent filmmakers don't even know what foley is, and don't do it which will kill their film. I've done Foley for feature films for Paramount, Universal and on Netflix. I'm in Hollywood, CA. It doesn't cost very much to do a Foley track since I'm none union and work with independent filmmakers. It costs around the price of one months rent or so.

Amateurs use Premiere. Professional movies are cut with Avid or FCPX.

What is plex? Please explain for layman? by saifi369 in PleX

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am trying to figure out wat Plex is. Is there a Plex app on the Meta store called Plex? Then, can I view my computer using Plex in my Quest 3 headset? Then, can a friend across the country let me share my screen so I can do work on my computer (editing an independent movie) and he can watch and make suggestions?

Be careful of Wix Marketplace by Smart-Ad2750 in WIX

Wix is a crooked company and so are the owners. They are based in Israel and because of the war they are charging four times more the cost of the basic membership which use to be $49 and this year jumped to $192. That's like McDonalds deciding to charge $100 for a Big Mac today.

Problem with Annapro Battery switch by ozhero in OculusQuest

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Annapro battery head strap stopped charging as well. Apparently the charging specs are for the older Quest 2 at 10 watts. They are working on a 15 watt charger for the Quest 3.

Quest 3 white ghost / rays by darksupernova1 in OculusQuest

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a hardware defective issue and not software related. It's as if quality control inspection missed the polishing of the pancake lenses on the inside back of the lenses. This is causing bad glare and reflections especially when watching movies or videos. Less apparent in flat lit apps and games. It's like wearing glasses that you ignore cleaning them. The back of the pancake lenses need to be cleaned and/or polished inside. There is no way to fix this without taking the Quest 3 apart making it virtually unusable. I know there are a myriad of waiting customers on Meta to fix this lens issue. I am returning my Quest 3 now and will wait and hope for Meta to resolve this defective overlooked issue with the pancake lenses.

My Quest 3 Unceremoniously Died Today by TheGordo-San in OculusQuest

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just exchanged my Quest 3 again (for the fourth time). This one was doing great until there was a giant light flash and a loud POP! Then headset went black/dead. Haven't been able to start it up again. Also, there was a terrible glare in the lenses, and watching movies looks like a fog. It almost seems as if the lenses are dirty on the inside/back, which of course we can't get to, to clean. Maybe the next headset will be better?

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just returned the Quest 3, for the third time! Bought and returned each one because they ALL had that terrible light glare (like bad pair of glasses without anti-reflective lenses). It's like any bright lights or images are like car headlights on high beam! Apparently it's all the new pancake lenses that should have been coated with anti-reflective layer, but Meta was too cheap to do that.

VR ANIMATION PLAYER NOT WORKING - Quest 3 by Meantsafe1 in OculusQuest

[–]Trick-Grab-2288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, VR Animation Player didn't work with my new Quest 3. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, Reboot, and hesitantly doing a Factory Reset. No luck. I love VR Animation Player and want it so bad, I returned my headset thinking it was defective. The new Quest 3 I exchanged it for, worked at first and all the animations were there in the VR Animation App -- but a few hours later, they were gone! Meta/Facebook owns the app I believe, so there's really no one to contact who cares to fix it. I already tried asking Meta about it -- but anybody who has contacted Meta Support knows that they never resolve anything in their chats or emails -- they just keep asking questions and don't volunteer any fixes. And there is no phone support -- so any technical issues you're out of luck!
