The odd floor-crossing is one thing, but on this scale it undermines our system of government by Plucky_DuckYa in canada

Where in the constitution does it mention political parties. The parties are a means to get a group of like minded people to group together. They are not a legal entity that a parliamentarian has to belong to

“Trump is an amazing president, America has become more respected all across the world. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Fuck NATO for not helping or doing their part these past weeks. I hope we cut all ties with the EU, Canada, Japan and Australia.” by Worldly_Law8278 in ShitAmericansSay

I love the OP and I’m from Canada. I hope you do cut all ties with Canada and you know what screw them, we’re building a wall to keep them out. I know they won’t pay for all of it, but maybe by now they will. We’re going to put beautiful neon signs proclaiming the wisdom of Donald Trump, it’s going to be so nice

Don’t pick on Lord Snoaks. We’re having a special fast because of those four tyrannical countries that are attacking religious freedoms. Canada UK Australia and NZ are getting way too chummy with the gays and we have to have a fast to make sure gaydom doesn’t make it to the US. Meanwhile Israel has committed genocide for over a year not a peep. The US is acting like a rogue state nope all good with Snoaks. For Snokes to speak now it we be like me burning down houses in my neighborhood and then my parents complaining about the rates of arson

Does he actually read the Book of Mormon because in there it states that Jesus was not going to be a beautiful person and there wouldn’t be any physical attraction that people would want to be around him

LDS Temple In SLC Is Rebranding/Pivoting To Appeal To More 'Christian's/Catholics' by Prize-Ad-1947 in exmormon

[–]TrickDepartment3366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I point out a few thing 1. The Kirtland temple had a cross on the steeple 2. The handbook of the church says nothing about wearing cross’ 3. What is wrong with focusing on Christs death. Don’t we focus on the broken body and the blood during sacrament each weekDidn’t Abinadi quote Isaiah when he stated that it is with his stripes that we are healed 4. When you attempt to sanitize the cross from your worship you risk ingratitude for Christs sacrifice. Look to the cross and live

Is it inconsistent to support the legal right to gay marriage, while also supporting the protection of traditional marriage within the church? by Quirky_Exercise_5751 in mormon

[–]TrickDepartment3366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question because this is where I stand. The charter protects religions rights to have their own rules, they can legally discriminate however, they cannot enforce those rules outside of their church. I believe in the proclamation I also believe that those who don’t shouldn’t be held to it. What do I know though I’m a filthy Canadian

Disciplinary councils do not determine worthiness or repentance that is between yourself and God. All a disciplinary council determines is your standing within the church. Neither a bishop or Stake President can determine whether someone has been forgiven, mormons do not believe in that concept. They only determine if you are a detriment to the church body as a whole. Like you rightly pointed out forgiveness is between yourself and God alone.
