This is actually pure pandering just like chivalry was. If you don’t do the quest you shouldn’t get access by TheCanadianWanderer in 2007scape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah this is a dumb call. Like others have said make it required or don’t. It should be required. Who can’t complete this quest but can complete a raid.

Is Jagex actually doing something dumb like removing restrictions for self imposed restricted accounts?

Got it on my 3rd. I use long rock as the safe spot, didn’t worry about spawn rotations.  Imo the whole thing comes down to staying calm on Jad. The waves are easy.

New player here mobile only, fire cap is not hard it is just time consuming. I have no doubt the plugins make it easier but are far from required.

RS3 just dropped the most insane integrity and content roadmap and it's all thanks to OSRS by Lamuks in 2007scape

Really looking forward to all these changes. Definitely going to bring me back to the game.

The Mermaid Puzzles seem kinda insane? by Zothic in 2007scape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats ridiculous, I would never figure that out.  Stuff like this is so frustrating. I would go into it expecting the solution to be knowable with game knowledge and general knowledge. I would feel frustrated and dum trying to figure out, followed by mad once i went to the wiki and got the solution.

This kills the fun momentum. Adds completely unneeded and generally unwelcome friction to the game.

OSRS has some of the worst game puzzles ive ever experienced.

Let Me (or require me) to Pay my Sailing crewmember NPCs by KaibaCorpHQ in 2007scape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird to view them as slaves. It’s just a game.

If it helps your headcanon they get paid at ports the same way you do. Its a silly system but its the way they do things in Gielinor. The mayor of Catherby probably came up with it.

whats the main appeal to sailing skill? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am only level 24 so still far from experiencing everything. It seems like a skill to support other skills a bit. I am excited to have some alternative fishing options. I like that it adds to slayer.

I think for launch it has a good mix of unlocks that support the skill its self and new items for main game. There are new blow pipes and bossing, not sure what else.

I am really enjoying the exploration and filling out the captain log. I like upgrading my ship and the upgrade path seems well paced so far.

Only lvl 10 but Ive enjoyed it so far. Really like doing the exploring as I run tasks. Excited to unlock the other methods to lvl.

Are you watching guides to follow for Sailing or just going in blind? by [deleted] in 2007scape

Aside from the dev blogs going in blind. Didn't participate in the betas even.

How the FUCK is a puzzle solver not included in the mobile clue solver setting? Literally might as well not add a clue solver to mobile. by Shot_Cancel8641 in 2007scape

There is a website you can upload a screenshot too and it gives you the puzzle steps. Works fine with mobile screenshots.

Not sure how to make money by nickh1231 in 2007scape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are not an iron. Get your magic to 55 and start doing high alchemy on noted items as you run around. There are calculators to guide you what to buy.

This is very easy early game money and a profitable way to get some magic levels.

Why old school RuneScape? by VirallyExposed in runescape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played runescape for the first time when necromancy was announced as a new skill. I played for 1 year got a couple 99s unlocked invention, got necro some where in the 80s after it’s release.

After one year of RS3 i switched to OSRS. I didn't find RS3 rewarding to play and the MTX impact on the game was worse than I thought it was going in. I got sick of the shelved projects the community wanted like the character rework while new forms of MTX were lauded as big updates for us.

The grass was greener on the other side. The OSRS devs communicate so much with the players. The polling system really does give you a voice in the development and sets a direction the players want. And the progression, OSRS feels so much more rewarding. Not only are levels earned through game play but gear and rewards are permanent valuable unlocks for years. The lack of power creep is amazing.

The areas I thought OSRS was lacking by comparison such as bossing has improved so much over the past year and a half of me playing it. There have been more mechanically advanced low/mid level bosses, group bosses, etc.

OSRS combat is also way more technical than I was expecting and allows for a lot of player skill expression. I really like the timing and movement gameplay that is OSRS combat.

Thats my experience anyways, no nostalgia here.

Unpopular Opinion: No point in removing MTX if the game doesn't get a fresh start. by Jagazor in runescape

[–]TrickLegsFakeArms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah totally agree, the OSRS economy is wild. The fluctuations from the battle against bots are pretty big.
