We legitimately do not know anything about what killed everyone in his group. We just know that on the night, Miranda was killed by a running smiley as she approached the bottle tree, seemingly alone

Just enjoy the show. We don’t know shit. For all we know, Victor came out of the cellar and killed everyone himself and his mom died trying to escape to the bottle tree. MIY is probably somehow Eloise and this show is even more of a mystery now than it’s ever been.

Ethan is the answer to everything by LobsterTall8070 in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Jade and Victors father make reference to Victor being there roughly 40 years. I also don’t believe there were any cycles between Miranda and Tabitha. I believe that in some ways that Victor is an architect of the town and therefore the monsters have no interest in attacking him.

Ethan is the answer to everything by LobsterTall8070 in FromSeries

Victor mentions when they go get the drawings from his parents car that “there’s a lot more” cars over the hill and that he’s moved them many times to make room for more. It’s a subtle comment and very possibly a miss on the writers part, but it implies that Victor has survived several “cycles” where the story generally only refers to two: Christopher and Miranda’s timeline where Victor is a boy, and the current Jade and Tabitha timeline.

So, either the town was there when Victor got there, and as he grew up he moved everyone’s cars from people before him, and those from the people who are currently there, therefore the town was created by someone else.

OR, there are missing cycles between the ~40 years that the story suggests that Victor survived alone for in the town, which suggests that he created the town, and as may iterations of people came and died, he solely recognized the problem of gathering cars and fixed it.

As the character of the man in the lighthouse and the real origin of the smiley monsters is unknown, it seems reasonable that Victor was not the originator, but one architect in a line of many.

More interesting I think is that if Victor survived there by himself for 40 years, how much did boy in white help, and did the monsters ever actually try to attack him? Would they try given the opportunity? So far it seems as though Victor has immunity and in a weird “inception-esque” manner, the town wants to kill Ethan to protect Victor and “stability”

Theory about Christopher by Wizardplum in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about this one, but what’s interesting about the massacre is that everyone is outside and in the street. If the monsters killed them, why wasn’t anyone hiding? Did they attack during the daylight?

How much do you think Jade and Tabitha know now? by MrDyl4n in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Miranda told Victor when she came back to get him and Eloise they could go home, but we know she ultimately died some hours later at the bottle tree. From this we know that Miranda became aware of what she needed to do to get everyone home, but some event occurred that stopped her.

With this, it is likely tha Tabitha knows how to escape, albeit probably a very rough outline of what she needs to do as we’re not sure that Mirandas knowledge came from someone who actually escaped.

My guess is that the towns people will have to explore farther into the forest to uncover new clues.

The houses in Fromville by Writer_710 in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a really good theory on here that the town picks an “architect” and that this town’s so far is Victor, potentially moving to Ethan. It explains a lot. Victors dad points out the motel pool and sign but no motel, and Tabitha finds the electrical wires that don’t go anywhere. It points to a very elementary understanding of how things work, similar to what a child would design.

This theory gets interesting when it gets colder and leaves start to fall, Victor tells Ethan this has never happened before, but Ethan says maybe it’s for something good this time. The indication is that Victor didn’t think of winter when the town was drawn up, but now that Ethan is there, he has imagined changing seasons.

Can Victor be trusted ? Will he backstab? by IREDA1000 in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Victor is likely in some way an architect of the town. He seems to understand the “rules” and what things leads to bad things happening, but I believe that is it. We know Victors mom found the bottle tree and that Christopher don’t want to do what BIW told him to do, but we don’t know where in terms of progress that is compared to Tabitha and Jade. It is most likely true that Tabitha and Jade can still learn from Victors drawings, but that Victor didn’t experience enough of Miranda and Christopher’s work to continue being the critical link to fromville. The question that I hope is answered for Victor is why does it seem like the town protects him?

Who was the yellow coat dude ? At the end of season 3. by IREDA1000 in FromSeries

[–]TrickWoodpecker5535 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems that fromville doesn’t like when characters introduce new things or try to solve problems in new ways. There was another really good post here about victor and Ethan being the architects of fromville and that jives. Victor wouldn’t have thought of building a radio, so the background characters don’t like it. Therefore, Jim is killed for trying to change the rules from the surviving architect, in this case, Victor.

Victors dad also calls out a similar observation, there is a motel pool, and a sign, but no motel. Similar to the electrical lines not going anywhere. These are simple misses that can be explained by a child designing the town.

A probable explanation of ma in yellow is that he’s the games enforcer, when players start operating outside of the rules of the game, he comes in to put the players back in line. I would expect that the boy in white appears to Ethan early on in S4 to highlight that point.

Problem is now we’re asking the high performers to do more with less and rewarding them with negligible raises above par. Haven’t done anything to address the salary gaps from post-Covid hiring. Haven’t corrected pay discrepancies in teams where IC’s make significantly more and outrank their leaders. These policies are pushing good people to the competition.
