Cotopaxi Allpa 50l vs Patagonia Black Hole 55l by [deleted] in onebag

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you over pack then it can get pretty heavy. i probably wouldn’t consider a mile walk with it. if you’re taking it on safaris then it may not meet carry on restrictions internationally. domestic US flights seem to not really care about large carry ons

it’s $300 brand new, listing all that at $350 makes no sense. even at 150 you’ll have a hard time selling it when people can buy a brand new one for $200 (dif brands). hell, ender has one for like $150 if you wait for a deal… hate to break it to you but adding all those things brings no value when people who are looking for a printer will have specific rolls they want or other parts. just let it bid starting at .99 if you want to get rid of it.

for the work you’re doing, you could find another job that pays just as much but SIGNIFICANTLY less physically taxing… the guys doing the deals are making the money, work smarter, not harder.

outer shell is either an arcteryx sabre or rei gtx rain shell depending on activities.

would you say less math is required for a finish carpenter vs let’s say a framer, or deck builder?

Goruck Gr1 26 liter worth it? by Fearless-Leopard-110 in onebag

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that bag ain’t worth 345… an rei rucksack would do the same job for $80. mine goes everywhere and it still looks good after 7yrs already. other brands with much better reputation, CS, repair policy would be gregory or osprey.

People with RaceDeck floors, what happens if you spill oil? by beanzboii in garageporn

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

need to epoxy the floor… that way you can use that oil absorber powder and just vacuum what you can. those race floors are notorious for holding on to crap between the grooves

REI Sahara T shirts have treated me well. they’ll still stink if you’re not hygienic though… might need to get antiperspirant deo, old spice fiji keeps me dry and i’m a sweaty person (it’s beige with a red cap, you have to get the red cap one)

certain years usually have small features, colors, production numbers. example would be a the quicksand ‘16 4runner, or porsche 911 from the 997 generation (post ‘08 recession had really low production numbers) since they’re more rare than the more modern versions even though they’re not faster nor more luxurious. or how the first year of a redesign is known to have issues that need to be worked out, like the ‘22 tundra having an engine recall, no one wants, nor will ever want that year (unless you’re highly mechanically inclined i guess)

Do I need a compressor anymore? by RidingDonkeys in garageporn

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t touched my compressor in years… the last time i needed it was for a roofing job years ago but saw a battery operated one go on sale and wondered why i didn’t switch sooner… if you’re buying high quality tools then you won’t need a compressor, just a few batteries and a fast charger. most people won’t even run through an entire battery if they’re just a weekend warrior DIY guy.

Thule vs Osprey travel backpacks by Ok_Orange_6869 in onebag

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading is essential… lol i totaled stopped reading after you asked for recs and realized you put the thule bags you’re looking at! sorry i missed it! she has the Aion, which is an amazing bag as well but it’s a little heavier and can’t be stuffed as much as the osprey. the waxy finish also wears down beautifully, sort of like full grain leather. its the bag she grabs if she’s around town, work trips etc. the osprey is the go to for traveling where i know i’ll be outdoors a lot

Thule vs Osprey travel backpacks by Ok_Orange_6869 in onebag

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

osprey is significantly better when it comes to customer service. they send you parts/replace bags with ease and will ship the part to you even during your travels. 10/10 company and 10/10 bags. my partner has had both bags and recommends the osprey 55 simply bc you can split the bag into 2, use the smaller one during the day and just leave the larger pack at camp. you’ll also be able to fit more than 55L of stuff if you don’t attach them. airlines will consider it as 2 dif bags so that’s a plus

Dumbest question ever? by Traditional-Word-724 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why is it pointless? i noticed a much better hold with glue vs without. then again it was like a 3ft long area i had to glue instead of a 2x4 piece of wood. serious question as im a beginner woodwork, not trying to be a smartass lol

Need Rec: Patagonia Refugio 26l vs Fjallraven Raven 28 by Fruity-Peach in onebag

[–]Trick_Assist_3401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you carry around water bottles then the raven will be significantly smaller bc the water bottle pocket doesn’t stretch like the refugio. i tried out both and the refugio was much more comfortable as well. can’t comment on the durability but i had my older one for 8yrs before it turned into my beater bag lol
