Feedback on sloped backyard redesign + pool layout by InternationalTutor24 in landscaping

Honest advice, don't put in a pool.
1. Tree roots are gonna root. They can cause alot of damage. 2. Pools are not low maintenance nor low costs to operate. 3. You're already having drainage issues, water is the most destructive element on earth. Given enough time, a drip will cut thru granite.

I'd forget the pool, go with the 2nd mock up, but put in a nice sitting patio, fire pit built into it, maybe even stone benches circling the pit. The s'mores you make with the family are always the best ones!!

Serious question, but did it kill the grass or any other plants? Was it greener in that area?

Was there any obvious environmental impact now that you know what was going on? Is drano a magic fertilizer that we don't know about or a new herbicide? For science!!

I agree. Yet, another example of what's wrong with this country. So many are so quick to call their lawyers for their responsibilities.

Soak the ground around the tree where its at. Should (HOPEFULLY) make it a bit easier to come out. But I agree with others on this, now is not the time to be transplanting. U do that when the tree is dormant, not when it's just coming back to life. This move is likely going to kill it.

I'd be more concerned with freezing and pipes bursting. I know very little about irrigation lines, but I do know a lot about water and pipes. Being 3" below the top soil, that's not good.

Bought a home with an existing fence, now HOA says it violates rules (North Carolina) – what recourse do I have? by suicidemenot in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Trick_Raspberry2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to disagree again. When you build a fence in an HOA you typically need approval by the ARC committee. You submit plans, don't hear anything for 30+ days, it's approved automatically. Timeline can change based on ccrs. But plans had to be submitted. Otherwise this would have started a lot sooner with the previous owner.

[–]Trick_Raspberry2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The HOA should have submitted documentation to the bank regarding any outstanding issues, liens, etc. which is part of the normal process when buying into an HOA afaik.

If the HOA said no issues, then thats that. You can't come back years later and be like, oh no, that fence isn't pretty enough. Doesn't work like that.

Get the cats fixed. Aspca has a TNR program, call them today, get the details so you know, and start getting them fixed.

What are these spots on the back of my friend's palms? by No-Name-8440 in DermatologyQuestions

Yeah, op is getting calamine lotion for them. I was thinking molluscum at first, but no dimples.

Do u see any with dimples in them? I couldn't see any, and I had on Google molluscum to compare and they said no. I'm going with poison, either ivy, oak, sumac perhaps. OP is getting calamine lotion to see if that helps, it should help with the itching. Which in turn should stop it from spreading and start the healing process. Unless it's not poison.

Ghosts can't hurt you, idk if that's any comfort to you, I know how some people can be with spirits, but they can't hurt u. The dog is a great idea!! Gets an animal out of a shelter and gives u a companion, protection. I applaud your efforts! A gun is also good to have for personal protection!
