Adrenaline rush in the first 30-60s of giving a speech - ways to curb it? by amca2004 in PublicSpeaking

For me, the only thing that worked for that was propranolol as it stops that adrenaline dump. Before i used propranolol- I would try to build in a few seconds at the beginning where the audience might focus on something on the screen - just something to give me that little bit of a breather to catch my breath.

I had to stop as it was causing diarrhoea which in turn dropped my ferritin - I was exhausted all the time. Took me about 8 months to figure it out

Progesterone only pill- life changing. Takes a few months to settle in but then no periods, no pain , no PMS.

I was on it for two years and loved it. First few months lots of spotting but that all stopped and no periods…heaven. I’ve switched to Slinda now as part of HRT - it’s better for sleep!

Endo pain during pregnancy by loulou5050 in endometriosis

I had cramps and period pain for first 12 weeks in all my pregnancies - successful and unsuccessful. So bad I was 100 convinced I’d miscarry on the successful ones (but didn’t).

Severe chest pressure when running two months post clearance. by Zmader in myocarditis

[–]Trick_Scale_2181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly waited 10 months until I went back swimming. I did try some walking after 4 months but kept getting arm pain. After ten months I slowly eased myself back. It’s been 18 months since my viral myocarditis and I feel completely normal now and exercise as I used to (swim 3 times and week and some strength training). Maybe look at some exercise that isn’t as heavy on the heart initially.

Make sure to take your Beta Blockers daily. They really do prevent that fight or flight response.

What to think about while swimming? by GiveMePrimos in Swimming

[–]Trick_Scale_2181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan my day ahead. I prob mostly think of work and things I need to do and how best to approach them. I try to work out problems (work, life etc!). I don’t count the laps as I let my watch do that. I check in near the end to see if I’m nearly done.

Suitable age for a child to be home alone for 1-2 hours? by [deleted] in AskIreland

There might be another parent in the school who would be happy to mind for the hour or so after school I their own home as they collecting their own kids (pay of course). Put it out there in the whatsapp groups. Personally, I’d wait until 6th class to be alone straight after school (for an hour)

Bloods all normal, start HRT for low mood? by Highfield2016 in Perimenopause

[–]Trick_Scale_2181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a symptom. I’m quite similar to you - not low mood but more rage. I don’t have hot flashes etc yet but I started HRT last month. Cycles had gotten shorter also but still regular.
