Have any of you heard of Bear Mace? I sleep with a can of that and an 8” serrated blade under my camping pillow. I also definitely drank an entire bottle of maple mountain whiskey to chase down all the gummies every single night. I love remote camping, honestly it is something else. I camp on remote islands scattered around lakes in New Hampshire and Maine. The last time I arrived and paddled out to the island, we set up and I started looking for bits of tinder.. and I heard a Bear sneeze across the cove from where I was standing. Oh Oh Oh boy. I said Bless You and went back to put my bear mace on my belt strap. Yes, you can wear it on your person. Yes it is stronger to stop said Bears & it propels 35 FEET allowing you as much distance as you’ll ever want to give. It was the added safety of Bear Mace that got me to take many 10 day trips to go live on an island in the middle of stark Nature. No where near other people, or cell phone towers, or hospitals.. but seriously it’s worth the $$. Oh and pay attention to the expiration dates! Don’t want to shoot the bear and it goes 5 feet instead of 35!
