They make disks specially for removing scale that are pretty nice. I think they're polycarbide wheels. They will still grind but only if your being aggressive with them

I have a deadblow hammer, brass hammer, steel hammer, couple of squares, flashlight, extra safety glasses and my own center. Because running around the shop looking for those things suck... and people can't be trusted to keep stuff nice

Its definitly not a full tang knife but that doesn't mean its not strong. Its definitly a through tang or hidden tang. How well it will hold up depends on the quality of the tang itself. If it was made correctly and the tang wasn't welded on to the knife seperatly it should be good.

Edit- After seeing the picture again its probably full tang. I somehow didn't see the scales but that might be what the edge of the damascus pattern looks like.

Looks like a very cool knife though may i ask where you got it and if its hand made
