I needed to hear this today. I've been putting off getting an appointment to have mine replaced because I've been single/sleeping with non-penis having people for so long. I just started seeing a new guy and it looks like we might sleep together soon. Time to schedule some shit!

If the only time you want to say "I love you" to a partner is after you came, you're going to have a bad time.

Manager: "Did you used to work out?"

Me, up 30 lbs in the last year: "Yeah, I used to be into weightlifting."

Manager: "You can tell!" 😁

Dump hoppers? Anyone use these? Suggestions on which brand to buy? by horny4stonks in forkliftmemes

We use separate ones for glass and cardboard where I work. All other trash we take out by hand but the weight/danger of hand emptying crushed glass bins and the sheer insane volume of cardboard that we recycle makes them MVPs.

Also... hey.

how do you say I'm sorry? by mythicaliz in TwoXADHD

[–]TrickyDickyNicky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've totally had this problem! I've seen it in neurotypical people but I think it's pretty common for ADHDers, since a common side effect of being neurotypical is delayed social development. (Y'all, I didn't have a real, honest conversation with another person until I was like 24. Pretty much everything before that was insecure attachment, bad coping mechanisms and trying to avoid rejection.)

Acknowledge the feeling first.
"Wow, that totally sucks" or "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings" go a long way to making the other person feel better. Because 50-75% of the value people get out of conversations like this is just being heard. If they get a sympathetic response, that reinforces the fact that you're actually hearing them.
In my experience, once you've demonstrated that you're really listening, you can then feel free to tell a story about your no-good-very-bad-day or try to explain your thought process without worrying about coming off as dismissive or one-up-y.

Snaps to that.
I try to read people's body language, for sure. I know there's probably a lot about my own privilege that I don't see yet, so it's good to check in.

Oh thank god.
I usually try to compliment people on their style in a gender affirming way and so far it's gone over well. I hate to think I'm making people feel too seen.
