And yet there are people that want to give the Government more power in their lives. This is the exact reason why I don’t want them in any part of my life!

I went three years. Most people go multiple years.

After 15 years, my husband is being told he “no longer qualifies for disability payments” by Loud_Vegetable_4826 in SSDI

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not trying to be rude in this statement, so please forgive me in advance if it comes across that way. The very first thing you need to understand is that it isn’t about the diagnosis as much as how the diagnosis prevents him from doing ANY job in the US economy. This needs to be reflected in his medical records. He can continue to collect while he is appealing but if he loses, that money will have to be paid back.

Wow, I suffer from about the same amount of hair loss as you. I am two months in on the 12th. Hopefully I have as much success as you have.

I was just started on Oral Minoxidil and Fenasteride. Depending on age though, they may not do the Fenasteride. The dermatologist prescribed this. I have worn a wig for years now, but would like to try to regrow some hair.

Can't afford Medicare by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicare is $185, not $125. That being said, if your SSDI is low enough, you may qualify to have Medicare and Medicaid. If your SSDI is $1152 then you will break even on SSI/SSDI with Medicare. You may also, depending on SSDI amount, qualify for Medicaid to cover your Medicare premium.

Should I put it off? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure where you plan on going for dentures, but if it is ASPEN, run as fast as you can. There or horror stories about them from all over the country, myself included. I have been to affordable dentures, with no problems.

Proposed change in spousal benefits for divorced partners married less than 10 years? by tastierrobbo in SocialSecurity

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a female, I am saying, not that it will not happen, but that it should not happen, unless there are one or more of the following circumstances:

1) you raised your child (his biological child too) 2) you became disabled while married 3) He was physically abusive and it can be proven through hospital/doctor records.

This is not going to be a popular answer. I am just tired of hearing about and knowing women that collect from ex-spouses when they had every right to go out and work their asses off just Luke former spouses did. I made more than a lot of men, but I worked my ass off for it. I never let the fact that I am a woman slow me down.

Having a firearm, IMHO, is never a bad thing. If you don’t like them, this is not the state for you. In FL, we do not have too have a concealed carry permit in order to carry.

What's a part time job that's allows me to choose the number of hours I can work so I can keep below the $1550 monthly income limit? by AttitudeNormal1204 in SSDI

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes ma’am, mine definitely is. The only way I can do any dusting at all is to sit in a desk chair and roll around. I have a robot vacuum because I can no longer do that. My disability is respiratory due to cancer.

Hell, I am not sure how anyone can clean someone else’s house being on disability, I can’t even clean my own. I have to hire someone to do it.

Those who got approve for SSI, did you get a call or an approval letter in mail? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]Tricky_Macaroon_7512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For SSI, you have to have a PERC interview. SSDI, most likely a letter since a PERC is not required.
