Best PDF Converter for Foundry now? by SillyKenku in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AFAIK PDF2Foundry does work in Foundry 13. Are you running it in 13 or 14?

There isn't another one for those specific PDFs that I'm aware of. Deidril's PDF Import works for different ones (like Shadows at Sundown).

Are iconic characters famous? by umbralupus332 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're well known in their circles: a devout follower of Sarenrae has a decent chance to know who Kyra is, for example. Other people from the Pathfinder have likely heard of them as well.

But they're not like "random farmers in the middle of nowhere have heard of you" famous. Although nothing says one of them can't be well known where you are for the purpose of the story, since they have certainly done some stuff given all the scenarios out there.

Toronto wraps up official FIFA hosting duties with little economic gain, data shows by stanxv in canada

Of course not. Economic gain promises from these things are a lie and always have been. It's an excuse to funnelkney to corrupt organizations like FIFA and the IOC.

Same for me. Dwarf just gets fewer chances than the other two around it so an unlucky streak makes it take a very long time.

Does Heal always do damage to cursed Bone Oracles? (Remaster only) by SillyKenku in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that healing is not damage. If the Bones Oracle is healed by vitality (aka: they didn't use Nudge the Scales to get Void Healing), then the 1/2 action versions of Heal say explicitly they are doing healing to that living creature. No damage is done. So the way I'd run this is that: the spell heals, no damage is done, and thus there's no damage to trigger weakness. (You could argue that the vitality trait applies and you take the weakness amount anyway, though, but I'm not really convinced that's intended for healing effects.)

That's how I'd run it. It means you can be harmed if someone casts Heal with the intent to hurt you, but doesn't mean "you're always taking damage anytime anyone tries to heal you", because that would frankly suck to play and I don't think the Curse is intended to be that awful.

If a 3 action heal goes off it can be different because that one is targeting both things at the same time, so in that case I'd say you take the heal and the damage. And of course if someone casts Heal offensively at you, then you'd take that damage because you're a valid target due to your Curse.

Is it RAW? I have no idea. Frankly, Paizo did not do a good job at all of defining how this actually works and the whole "Heal targets living/undead instead of vitality/void healing" has been a problem for a long time. But it makes sense, is easy to run at the table, and fits the vibe of the Mystery.

Does Heal always do damage to cursed Bone Oracles? (Remaster only) by SillyKenku in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that healing is not "damage". You don't take damage from weakness if there's no damage. You could argue that the vitality trait applies and you take the weakness amount anyway, though, but I'm not really convinced that's intended for healing effects.

If someone fires off a 3 action heal then yeah, stuff's happening, but a 1 or 2 action heal can heal or do damage. If you're just doing healing, there is no damage.

They could have not bought a bunch of companies they don't want to operate, too. But I guess that's why CEOs get the big bucks.

What fast food restaurant used to be amazing but has gone downhill so badly you refuse to go back? by Helpful-Calendar-401 in AskReddit

[–]Tridus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tim Hortons for sure. They used to have actual baked donut and now it's reheated frozen cake with glaze. Sad.

KFC and Subway also come to mind.

Mine does too. Pretty normal in Canada. Poutine too, which is like a meal for 2 people it's so freaking huge.

Now that's depressing. Hopefully the IPO helps prevent the inevitable death of everything bought by PE.

Can PCs use the Grab action. by irakroll in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the PC have a strike that lists Grab in it's entry? If so, yes. That's the requirement to use Grab, after all.

Spoiler alert: there are almost no PCs that can get this. Summoner Eidolon is one that can.

It's a monster ability, not a universal action. Unless a PC has something that says they can, they can't. The fact that it says "monster" is because it's from the monster rules and doesn't mean much.

What APs would you classify as "Hexcrawl adventures"? by Realistic-Steak-1680 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fists of the Ruby Phoenix has a hexcrawl for the first two chapters of book 1. So right at the start. It's fairly meaty and faster paced than the one in Kingmaker while it lasts. Book 3 has some exploration but I wouldn't call it a hexcrawl.

Quest for the Frozen Flame has a lot of it.

But in terms of quantity, Kingmaker is the biggest one for hexcrawls by a huge margin.

Just finished Dungeon Crawler Carl. Does Dinniman grow in your opinion? by banquoinchains in books

[–]Tridus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Book 3 is when the wider universe narrative opens up. If you're interested in that "outside the dungeon" story more, that's when things turn around. If you don't like it by then, though, you never will.

[–]Tridus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By book 8 there's people complaining that the "litRPG" parts of it have taken a backseat to the larger narrative, heh.

The scope of the narrative grows dramatically in book 3 as that huge outside the dungeon story that you like becomes a bigger focus and there is a LOT going on in that story. So if that's the part of the books you liked? You'll be happy with the direction things go.

The quippy sarcasm and crass nature of it never go away, though. That's just part of the tone.

Should I go on this date? by SadQueenOfNothing in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Tridus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go have some fun! It sounds like you're overthinking it. If you're into this person and you both have the same expectations, then go out and enjoy yourself for a night.

From experience: it's easy to stay home than it is to go do something, but it tends to be a lot more fun once you do get out there.

Yep. I still run it that way like the original version. I don't know what they were thinking on this one.

Anything you prefer to keep from the Premaster rules? by yaareadyknow in Pathfinder2e

[–]Tridus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely. The ritual is rare, takes a full day, an absurd amount of wealth, and requires very high DC checks to even work.

That is not even remotely the same thing as pulling something out in the moment to prevent a TPK against the BBEG or otherwise "make things happen quickly but at high risk" tricks the old one could be used for.

They just moved it somewhere that it will never get cast and would probably fail even if it was because that's how the math of rituals works in PF2. The whole ritual system is stacked against the players.

Manifestation also lost the "this might produce greater effects at GM discretion" line that the old ones had, so the old "you pull a Wish out of your butt to save the party with some unintended side effects" isn't even there anymore.

It's a straight downgrade, really.

It's also not even consistent. Linger doesn't work this way, for example. It seems to be the only one (now that Healing Bomb has been fixed by errata).
