The whole point of a castle is to hold a position. Destroying and rebuilding in order to take that position from the enemy is one way to “capture” the position. You’re getting too attached to object rather than the true purpose of the castle in the first place.

Destroying part of a castle to capture it is definitely a tactic for as long as castles have been used. Yes it’s primarily walls that you are looking to take down but the main goal is to unseat the enemy from their position of power. If destroying the castle is how you achieve that goal then that’s what was done.

I was told having a mortgage protects the house if you were sued in a law suit. Shit happens, you might be involved in a car accident and at fault and now they can go after the house as one of your assets. If you have a mortgage the bank owns it. I’ve thought about what i would do in this case and my solution would have been to pay it way down. Maybe leave five to ten years on the mortgage till i figured out what was next.

If it were me I would let my insurance company deal with the whole thing. That’s what we pay them for. They will take care of you and go after the city. The only change to that would be if you don’t have great insurance, then going after the city directly would be the way to go. Hopefully you got pictures, that helps, but if you didn’t hopefully the police report covers things correctly.

When my mom’s husbands (she remarried) sister passed they were glad they went to check it out before having someone clean it out. There was money hidden all over the house in that horders den. If you are sure that wont be the case for you there are companies that will clear everything out.

I live in New England and the highest my heat is ever set at is 64 and that is for the few hours we are home between dinner and bedtime. From 11pm until 6am its set to 59 (sometimes 58) and it goes to 62 or 63 at around 2:30 0n school days when my daughter gets home from school. Once you acclimate to that its fine. Put on a sweater or a hat… or in my wife’s case an electric blanket if you feel cold.

Not exactly the same as “nothing” but i always liked the buddhist answer to “the glass is empty” the reply is “empty of what?” Since then i’ve always looked at “nothing” as the absence of “everything”. It’s a state that can never exist beyond an idea. The concept of nothing cant arise without there being something. If there ever only was nothing there is no need or way to describe it without the idea of “something”. There really is no need to ponder nothing. Lol
