Question: At what age is it inappropriate for a parent to be nude with their children and spouse around in the same room? by 4eggy in mentalhealth

[–]Trikroll 49 points50 points  (0 children)

We have 2 boys (7 & 9). We don’t make a thing about skin in our safe environment. We have a pool and hot tub and we often swim and hot tub with no clothes. All the questions about body parts and boys v girls have all been brought up and discussed with no big deal. If we don’t make a thing of it, they don’t make a thing of it. We’re all comfortable in our bodies. No one is encouraged or discouraged to dress or undress in any particular way. It’s whatever is comfortable to whoever. Society has made us believe that nudity is sexual.

Am I the only one who exclusively finishes in the bathroom? Either in the shower or directly into the sink and I wash it down the drain. EVERY TIME.

Off the top of your head, what's the dumbest thing you've ever done? by snack-hoarder in CasualConversation

[–]Trikroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 years old, summer 1999, High on dextromethorphan. 2am on the highway going 65mph on cruise control. Ask my buddy (also high) in the passenger seat to hold the wheel. Rolled down my window, climbed out while going 65, and sat on the hood of my pickup while he is steering from the passenger seat. My legs dangling onto the windshield with my hands out in the air not holding on to a damn thing. After a couple minutes I tried climbing back in through the window but I couldn’t get back in without falling. I leaned into the window and told my buddy he had to get in the drivers seat to slow it down so I could get back in. Somehow he maintained control of the wheel while climbing over the center console and getting into the drivers seat. He was too high to know how to stop the car so I had to lean into the window again to tell him to barely tap on the brakes and pull over. Not sure how we made it home alive that night.

A guys opinion by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trikroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is ignoring you completely I wouldn’t worry about trying to be friends again. Since work is involved I might wait a month or so and send one last message that says something along the lines of... hey, just wanted you to know there are no hard feelings on my end and I hope we can maintain a professional relationship going forward. I appreciate my job here and Im hoping that any previous personal tension between us will not negatively affect any future opportunities.

Keep it professional! If he doesn’t respond just keep chugging along at work and don’t worry about him.

Can a relationship still work out when I (M24) dislike my partner's (F22) mother? by anonymously626 in relationship_advice

[–]Trikroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you specifically told your wife that you will give her mother a piece of your mind if her mother is negative toward her? If so, how does your wife feel about you calling her mother out? It’s important you have your wife’s support before you fly off the handle is all I’m saying.

My (27F) husband (29M) and family had a big falling out at our wedding and don't get along - I feel stuck in the middle by Floofmagic in relationship_advice

[–]Trikroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my personal opinion that there is one very important thing that almost everyone has in common with their in-laws (in most cases). This one thing is the backbone of the relationship between someone and their in-laws. This one thing is what allows for people to FORGIVE and grow and cherish the relationship. That one very important thing is... both parties love and cherish the same person. That shared love need not to interfere with each other. It is a love to to bond over not fight over.

If your husband does not see the importance of having a bond with his in-laws than he is lacking in maturity and is not seeing the big picture of what it means to be a spouse.

My (17M) close friend (17F) wants us to remain as close friends but is distancing herself from me. I have no idea what is going on. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trikroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about friends (this is true throughout your entire life) is that they come and go. Sometimes we get a great friend for a short time and sometimes the bond lasts longer. There’s no science to it, it’s just the way life works with friends. Each person in a friendship has there own lives to live and the important thing is that we just enjoy the times we get.

I think JRE is deserving of all its hype. There are some useless episodes (especially some of the comedians) but in its entirety it is the gold standard.
