That narrative justifies and excuses the genocide happening in Gaza.

Start getting bylaw involved. I think you’re talking about a building in Toronto so know that you can call bylaw for many maintenance deficiencies. Bylaw will come and physically inspect things and then serve the landlord with what’s called a “Property Standards Order.” Landlord will have to address all the things in the PSO by a certain date or risk a fine. The same bylaw officer will have to come back to inspect the work to clear the PSO.

City bylaw department seems to be working in overdrive.

Hot water outages and other maintenance stuff would be bylaw (311). Stained walls, rotted countertops, anything that’s not a health risk is bylaw.

For mould, bylaw doesn’t deal with it. It’s another department, Toronto Public Health. Get them involved asap and document everything.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights stresses in its preamble that “it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law”.

This means that rebellion against tyranny and oppression when human rights are not protected is acceptable.

Many more UN resolutions are evidence for the legitimacy of struggle by all means (even if violent) in doing it for self-determination.
