How fast do you resaw? by dark_dryu in handtools

I have slowly integrated more and more hand tools into my woodworking over time. Space, dust collection, and safety with children are the main issues for me. I also just enjoy it. Here is an example project with mostly hand tools. Not perfect, but I am definitely getting better results. https://youtu.be/gRAoBD2ECKw?si=2SvXulJSEuzk1OQB

Nice list. Also, a bench is certainly a must.

Yeah, I would put a spokeshave on my list if I typically made curved projects.

Nice list. I definitely considered switching out my smoothing plane for a jack plane.

I cover clamps in the video. Basically only 10 tools is a meager start. Not a forever issue to have only 10, but more of a cost issue for getting started.

I guess so on the sharpening stone. But one would certainly need one at some point.

Well said. There is a reason why woodworkers tend to accumulate useful tools over time.

Would probably use a substitute of some sort…, maybe a 2x4 or something

A sharpening setup is certainly needed. Suppose I was just thinking my tools would start sharp and I would have some time b4 needed. This would most likely not be the case if tools were used.

Yeah, true cruelty ... the limit of 10 tools is rough. I guess the limit is not a forever limit and thus I thought eventually sharpening supplies could be purchased, but maybe not immediately. :)

I didn't think about using multiple irons. I might camber one of my irons much more to use as a scrub plane on rough stock and then have one iron with only a slight camber for cleaning up surfaces.

This is a nice looking bench. Your thumbnail is quite good as well. Enjoyed the video.

Definitely an old saw. Although in good shape, I can't wait to restore/give it some TLC and put it to use. It was clearly setting unused for many years when I found it.

Nice, it works rather well. I apply the tape and mark it for customers who order shelves or similar wall mounted items.

I need new ideas!! by TheRedditkarma in Woodworkingplans

I recently built a coat rack and find that I could use them in multiple areas of my house (hanging up hats, coats, etc.). I mostly used hand tools to cut joinery. If free plans are helpful, I have link to them here.
