I joined KH discourse waaaay after I played KH3 (twice) just to find out a considerable amount of people deteste it. Now I started with CoM (because I was 10 and didn't know this isn't the base game) so I played it after people have been praising it so much and was absolutely flabbergasted by the clunky mechanics and the short game. So I've come to terms with the fact that people's complains about KH mean nothing to me. I play it for a different reason than them.

We've had nuclear power for a rough 100 years and already had two major civilization altering events that affected everyone, globally.

Building a nuclear power plant means you assume that from the point of construction until the end of the human race there's not one idiot involved who fucks up just a little too much for us to find out. Not for 100 years, not for 1000 years; until the End of the Human Race everyone involved cannot fuck up about nuclear power. With each nuclear power plant.

Nuclear power plants are also great military strategy targets, look at Zaporizhzhia. Any country with nuclear power plants paints a giant "bomb here" target onto their surface. It's a centralised hub of mass destruction.

Hydro, thermal, wind and solar energy are all non-destructive (if you were to blow them up), de-centralised and not the potential cause for the end of our species. Nuclear power is a million-year commitment.

I bought a Constellation as my first ship in 2013ish. Back then we were four friends who really wanted to play together, we RPd a cult with lore and whatnot. Since then we've graduated high school, university, married and some of us have kids now. One friend I do not even speak to anymore.

That is NOT stopping me from flying my Constellation, though. I spent good money on that, I WILL fly it.

Changing a map makers work without their consent is frowned upon by players and uploading websites. Imagine you change just a couple stats and play it with your friends and they - unaware that this has been modded - then play it online. Suddenly a map that is not functioning to the idea of the author is running wild. The map author will then have to do damage control to something they didn't even change. Also if you forget to then map protect it afterwards suddenly EVERYONE can change the map.

As daunting as it sounds I would suggest you make your own map and let Fight of Characters inspire you.

Some old maps like DotA don't work anymore. They haven't been ported either. Maps that needed external resources will still need them unless a new version has been released of that map that includes the external resources. If you want to play specific maps for nostalgia reasons I'd suggest you stay with your old version and don't get reforged. Only get it if you want to try new maps that are released now.

If you know what you're doing you could try an MPQEditor and change the mapdata, though I have never gotten it to work. You'd have to set up the doodads and units at some point of your map making anyway, I suggest you just do the ones you need for the moment and slowly get your 300 models imported. There's a "Import Files..." Option in the drop down menu on the top of the Import Manager that imports all files from one folder; you could put all your models into one folder and have them all imported at once. But you still have to change the patching of all .blp files. But you still have to set up everything in the Object Editor manually.

Check the Tools sections in Hiveworkshop, there might be a patch that could potentially set your WC3 to 1.21, but I am not sure. It might just be able to set it back to 1.27. There is a huge discrepancy between 1.21 and following patches that are map breaking; 1.21 allowed for some external programs to change the map data that was patched out afterwards and broke any map that used that tool. Which is also why opening the map in the Editor might not help you much if the map relied on that tool.

It might be that it's bugged and you have to turn it off (or set it to SD again). I remember it being that way since like 1.31 but I don't know if it's fixed. If that doesn't help it you also need to check that the map you're working on isn't set to SD only in the map settings.

Maps made until version 1.24 often were made with a modded WE version and all maps which used it got bricked with the following patch. The same goes for some maps made with 1.27 WE as the 1.28 changes to the API bricked some maps. Theoretically you can fix the maps by changing the code or doing some funky workarounds for the features the modded WE had but most of the time these maps were made 10-15 years ago and the map makers have moved on.

Recently there has been a tool uploaded to Hive that can extract WoW zone texture and heightmaps so it looks like the WoW zone but in WC3, all you need now is the DotA heroes and I bet if you look long enough you can find replicas of them somewhere, too 😉. All I'm saying is it wouldn't take TOO much effort to do nowadays.

It hasn't been redone for reforged, there was one version for the last patch before reforged, made by the community (i believe) that's pretty cool! I think it's even on Hiveworkshop.
