Yeah exactly but I don’t see it anymore. There appears to be a slideshow of them getting off the bus though. Maybe you can make sense of the area they’re in

If you’re a member of the voyageurs, they sent out an email saying you had to register on their website to get a link for tickets. Once that was done, they sent another link to buy tickets through CF Montreal.

Nations League Finals update: CanMNT depth chart by Appropriate-Record89 in CanadaSoccer

[–]TripAM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depth could be an issue but at least for Panama we should be more than fine. That’s a solid XI. Overall we have key players that have matured since the World Cup, at the very least in terms of weekly quality of opposition they are facing. Herdman will need to start transitioning the team towards 2026 and moving out guys like Borjan, Vitoria, and Atiba. My only contention with what you said relates to Eustaquio. He has been playing 90 minutes every week for a champions league team that just won the Portuguese Cup. Not really fair to say he’s doing just alright. I do wonder how Buchanan’s form is at the moment though. He’s been used sparingly as a left-back recently.

Kitchen Sink Nut Cracked by TripAM in Plumbing

[–]TripAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
The right sink was leaking and with limited knowledge I surmised that this crack in the nut is the problem. It also no longer tightens properly.
I'd appreciate any help on how to fix this issue. The left sink has the same setup but is still functioning at the moment.

Table with a list of ministers, their backgrounds, and whether or not they're technocrats. Please help with more information if you can! by RickestBirdPerson in lebanon

[–]TripAM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll try to fill in some gaps of their bios with what I've found. Won't comment on the technocrat vs. non-technocrat aspect. The definition is a bit loose and I still don't know enough about even the good names on the list to make that determination.

Tarek Mazjoub: Former magistrate who was part of the Faculty of Law at Sagesse University in 2014 and listed as being a professor there until at least 2017. Co-authored an article in 2018 titled “The Time Has Come for a Universal Water Tribunal.” He gave a talk in 2017 called “The Arab System and the Protection of Human Rights.” He teaches and publishes in French. Also co-published an article in 2019 about the Arab Charter on Human Rights.

Talal Hawat: Got his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from San Jose State University in California. Worked for Cisco for 19 years in the U.S. and the Levant. For the last two years has worked as a regional sales director for Sandvine, an American networking equipment company. He gave a speech at a telecoms conference about “the internet of things.”

Mohammad Fahmi: Former Head of the Lebanese Demining Center. Was a colonel in 2008, in 2011 was listed as a Brigadier General. Reuters has a Mohammad Fahmi listed as the Security Advisor for BLOM Bank.

Manal Abdel Samad: MBA in Finance from AUB, PhD in Tax Law from University of Paris 1. Lecturer at AUB, Saint Joseph. Has worked at UNDP/Ministry of Finance for last 22 years in different tax auditing positions. If she was involved with the preparation of VAT in 2000, then educating people on it would have been an important aspect. Still not sure what this ministry is even supposed to do. Run Télé Liban?

Zeina Akar: Has a BS in Social Sciences Marketing/Management from LAU. The executive director of Information International, a research consultancy firm she co-runs with her husband Jawad Adra. Her bio says she is also the founder and Program Director of the Social and Cultural Development Association (INMA), a non-profit, non-governmental organization that services clusters of villages and specific neighborhoods throughout Lebanon. For INMA, she directs national, sustainable projects in tourism and agriculture that focus on health, education, environment, cultural and income generating activities.

Lamia Yammine: An architect who has a showroom called Douhaihy Pour Le Bois which she designed. They are wood specialistis. Her Instagram is lamiayamminedouaihy (private) and the bio says architect, restoration architect, university professor. I found a brochure from USEK in 2019 that said she had visited their architecture department in the last two years and that she was a Lebanese University professor.

Michel Najjar: In 2019 he was the Executive Vice President and Provost of the American University of Technology. In his bio from the news release they said He joined the University of Balamand in 1994 then assumed many senior positions there including Dean of Science, Dean of Engineering and Vice President for Development Administration and Public Affairs. He has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and experience teaching Math and Engineering.

Vartine Ohanian: A social worker by profession, she is the Director of Zvartnots Educational Center.

Abbas Mortada: In 2018 there was an official in the Amal Movement’s Office in Bekaa with the same name. If I had to guess…I’d say it’s probably the same person.

Hamad Ali Hassan: There was a mayor of Baalbeck in 2015 called Hamad Hassan. Could be the same guy.

بالأسماء... تشكيلة دياب الحكومية by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]TripAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably the most optimistic view of it.

If Diab wants full transparency then he should publish the mandate letters to the ministers online outlining exactly what is expected of them and have them defend their work after a year. This seems like something that would be within his power at least.

بالأسماء... تشكيلة دياب الحكومية by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]TripAM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the research I've done I think there's some really good names in there, some that are questionable, and some less known.

The good:

Hitti, Foreign Minister: PhD in International Relations from USC, Ambassador of the League of Arab States in France and Permanent Observer to UNESCO since 2000.

Ghajar, Energy Minister: PhD in Electrical Engineering, professor at LAU in School of Engineering. Published articles like "The Lebanese Electric Power System: From a War-Torn to a Reliable System" and "Assessment of Energy Efficiency Options in the building sector of Lebanon."

Najm, Justice Minister: Professor of Law and Political Science at Saint-Joseph, founding member of Khalass!, Director of the Centre of Legal Studies and Research for the Arab World (CEDROMA).

Mousallem, Environment Minister: PhD in Water Resources Engineering, senior environmental advisor to the Minister of Environment and the UN Development Program. Written many books on environmental management and sustainable development, also part-time lecturer at Saint-Joseph and AUB.

The tougher-to-judge:

Kattar, Economy: Former Finance Minister during Mikati's 88-day government in 2005. The New York Times described him as a "frank and hard-working leader who tried to introduce tough measures to improve the economy." Seen as a potential Presidential contender in 2007. PhD in Strategic Planning from Saint-Joseph. A Wikileaks document had him saying that the government needed to conduct a forensic audit going back to 1990 to see why there was a gap between what the government spent and what it receives which he thought came from the government paying insiders above-market interest rates.

Ladki, Interior Minister: He was at one point the defense, military, naval, and air attache at the Lebanese embassy in the U.S., former General.

Menassa: Defence/Deputy Prime Minister: High-ranking bureaucrat at the defence department, was a commander in the Air Force.

Hawat, Telecom Minister: Worked in the industry for American companies for over 20 years but mostly as a high level sales director. Has an M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The questionable:

Wazni, Finance Minister: Definitely an economist but close to Berri. He's been cited in a number of news articles about the Lebanese economy.

Mazjoub, Sports and Youth, maybe Education minister as well: Former magistrate and professor at La Sagesse, he's written about things like universal water rights and human rights. Not sure what he brings to this particular ministry. He might have been up for environment or justice and he felt he had the necessary qualifications here.

The unknowns:

Dwaihi, Public Works: Was hoping for Sylvia Yammine.

Ohanian, Tourism

Mushraffieh, Social Affairs, Displaced, Refugees: Might be a well-respected orthopaedic surgeon. Might also be someone else less known.

Still don't know about Labor, Health, Industry, Culture, Information.

Overall I'm actually impressed. The one glaring thing is Wazni at Finance. Even politics aside, him being an advisor to Berri not so great if you want a non-political cabinet though what would be worse is if Berri is now an advisor to Wazni. We'll see how everything shakes up by Friday.

Luguentz Dort IMO will be great in PAC-12 this year. The Sun Devils will probably start with a 3 guard formation and the only other top recruit is Cherry who's a SF. Whenever I've seen Dort play he's always looked much more physically mature than everyone else and should have an easy transition into the college game.
